Yeah that was pure class from start to finish! Argies now happily added to my elite list with Spain and Czech Republic. Some great goals, especially the second. They sat back in the second half (which they also do quite well) but the gutless Serbs had already given up.

me again :P.

Holland vs Ivory Coast - Holland somehow did enough to edge out the lively Ivorians. Will be sad to see them go, they gave Argentina a scare and looked a threat all game today. Still, good to see Holland through, a stadium full of Dutch fans is always a sight to behold, the WC / Euro Champs' aren't really the same without them!!

Incredible stuff!!

They made the Mexicans look average in the first half and had a few chances themselves. In the second the team in green started to show something for their status, in the end Angola were hanging on by a thread after their sending-off. Disappointing showing from Mexico after their convincing finish to the last game. But massive respect to the Africans, they've proved everybody wrong with two brave and spirited performances against two highly rated sides. They may even get through if they beat Iran!! Was great to see the small section of Angolans at the end, they must be so proud.

Portugal vs Iran - The Portugese overcame Iran who's main threat was from set-pieces but still did enough to piss them right off (esp C Ronaldo :D ). Portugal look pretty average to me, they have the talent but a strange lack of interest in scoring goals. Maybe they'll get into their stride in the next round but I can't see them getting much further.

Czech Republic vs Ghana - Awesome performance from the Ghanaians who looked like worldbeaters against a very flat Czech Rep. Can't believe they were so poor after they destroyed the Yanks *removes from 'elite list' *. Ghana scored 2 (one after 75 seconds) but should have had at least 4, including a missed penalty. Great to see an African side win a game given the courage these guys have shown.

I should get out more.

I'm so pissed off...... Korea shot 3 times, we shot maybe 15 times :x

And we had a goal, when the korean keeper stopped the ball behind the line...

We had a bad luck on both matches...

We can be qualified if Korea beat Switzerland, we beat Togo, and Switzerland beat Togo...

But the best thing for us now would be Togo defeating Switzerland...

ho and those yellow cards to Zidane and Abidal, that really really sucks... Tey won't be playing next match. Tonight's match may be Zidane's very last game... :? :(

USA vs Italy - One hell of a match!! 3 sent off (2 for the US) and a bizarre own goal. After Eddy Pope was sent off the sting was sadly taken out of the game, the US understandably put all their efforts in to holding on for a draw. Improved showing from them though.

Croatia v Japan - Was only able to see the first half of this game - both teams looked capable of scoring, surprised Croatia have not yet scored in the tournament. They must be reeling about that missed penalty!

What did you reckon to the Australia game Consumer?

France vs South Korea - After being superb initially, the French limped to a 1-1 draw. They should have been given the 2nd goal which clearly crossed the line but the Koreans did little to trouble them for 80 minutes. After this they sparked into life and Park bundled the ball in. They certainly look dangerous when they want to be and are helped by their fantastic support. To me the French mainly have themselves to blame as they seemed happy to sit on their 1-0 lead.

Togo vs Switzerland - 2-0 to the Swiss, Togo put in another respectable performance but just didn't have that quality to get shots on goal. The Swiss looked pretty efficient and could yet go through at the expense of France.

Australia did very well against Brazil, I thought, and deserved at least a draw out of the match. Unfortunatley, Kewell couldn't hit the broadside of a barn when presented with an open net within a minute of coming on. :(

A team cannot hesitate against Brazil. We hesitated constantly; we gave them an inch and they took an AU.

It should have ended 1:1, but that was another trademark miss by Kewell, and there's talk he may miss the next match because of his outburst against the ref at the end for finishing the game early. :( PS I really. can't. stand. Brett Emerton.

However I think it was an overall solid tactical performance, and we were just unlucky on the night. Praise Buddha that we only need 1 point to proceed.
