AAAHHHHHhhhh..... shows how much I follow goth/industrial these days... I had no idea that Ogre was back in skinny puppy.... of course, he's sober these days, so undoubtedly, they suck.

Oh yeah, i forgot about Last Rights... that wasn't bad... basicly, I don't consider anything they did after Ogre left to really be 'Skinny Puppy', you know? to me it's like if Tom & Ed stopped making music and the guy who runs their mixing board kept releasing chemical brothers albums.

It wasn't Skinny Puppy. It was called Download, platEAU, Tear Garden, Doubting Thomas, and whatever else I forgot. If you're talking about Ogre not being there a lot of the time from what I've heard they were having arguments around the time Rabies was done all the way until The Process.

Tear Garden is Ogre and Edvard Ka-Spel, it has nothing to do with the other members of skinny puppy.

No it's not. It's Cevin Key and Ka-Spel.

It's actually my 3rd favorite album from them. You should give it a chance but first you may want to check out the Ohgr sideproject and some of the later Download. It's going to sound a lot different from their older stuff you're used to. But you have to be aware that they've done all of this sideproject stuff for about 8 years so just going back to the LR sound would be kind of dishonest and seem like a pathetic attempt to rehash something that they aren't even feeling anymore. During that time you're talking about the music kind of just drained you when you listened to it. Really dark depressing stuff. However, this new stuff is a lot more energetic while still being dark in some places.

They made the song that says, "I wanna fuck you like an animal." You had to have heard that one, right? It's one of the most overplayed songs ever.

Yeah, I realized that and corrected it up there.

yeh, I don't know... I kind of gave up 'Industrial' music, (despite having loved it for so long, and being one of the few people who appreciated the fact that dance music today wouldn't exist without the things NIN, SP, Non, throbbing gristle and co. were doing back in the late 70s and 80s(hell, I remember when Aphex Twin was in the Industrial section at Tower Records)), when I traded my crystal meth for MDMA.... I really just can't get it up to be as aggressive as that music... SNOG is good, however, their last album, 'Beyond the Valley of the Proles', was sure brilliance...

Don't forget Head Like A Hole which, at least out where I live was on constant rotation on the alt rock airwaves - was the song that broke NIN into the alt rock scene in 1989. But yeah you're right about Closer being one of the most overplayed songs, at least in NIN's career. It's a great song. It definitely worked as the defining moment of NIN to a lot of people...
