I can't remember (because I really wasn't paying attention) whether Surrender or Dig Your Own Hole was the most popular - anyone want to dig up some billboard charts, maybe they can clue us in? Dig Your Own Hole was what really broke, imo, the Brothers into the US market in a big way. It was 1997 afterall. Dig Your Own Hole was perhaps the most acclaimed by their fans and critics alike - grammy award n'all - but between that record and Surrender, I remember it was a split camp of warring factions among the die hards: those who liked Surrender and those who hated it.
I'd say, since you've got the Singles and Come With Us (the record that came out before that) - go back to the beginning and get Exit Planet Dust, then Dig Your Own Hole, then Surrender. It's cool to listen from first-to-recent and see how they've evolved!
And enough with this 'mainstream' silliness. Just because something ends up in the mainstream doesn't automatically disqualify it from being good.
Either way, if the music is good regardless of how the masses take to it, then I am all the more happy for their success.

i dunno. DYOH sounds more mainstream to me. probably cause BRB was used in every freakin action movie and comercial in those days. has a darker sound than surrender.. surrender is more psychedelic to me..
surrender is awesome
EPD is awesome
DYOH is ok if your not offended by BRB
CWU never really sticks in my mind that well lol. its got some killer tracks though
(note. BRB is a good track. just overplayed)

Get them all, in any order!
One or more is ALWAYS in HMV/Virgin's sale, so they cost like 6 each.
Bargain!
You could be lucky like me, I too already owned CWU and Singles 93-03, wanted to get their albums as each one had good tracks. So, I walk in to Virgin Megastore, see that they're doing a sale with 3 for 2, and what do I see but Surrender, EPD and DYOH. I left that shop feeling very happy, plus I had plenty of new music to listen to! 8)
