As long as people aren't being assholes, I don't care one way or another how people choose to listen to and experience a gig.
What I don't like is anyone saying that listening to music one way (either sober, drunk, huffed up, stoned or jacked up on pills) is superior over the other. I've been all of these at different shows over the years, it was enjoyable each and every time, varied experiences.
It's all relative to the individual. The most important thing is that the music is being enjoyed.

Chemical_Sister Escribi:
the crowd(the non-drug users included) will still pay good money to go see two guys off their faces on drugs banging out the tunes!!
Have u ever actually seen the chems live? On the 6 shows ive been to i have never noticed either of them 'off their faces on drugs'. I go to see two great musicians playing great music not people taking drugs!
Its true however the drugs argument does go around in circles, its clearly a problem in terms of health implications and certain people not enjoying the gig due to in considerate behavior. This is not to say that alcohol is ok, but its not as bad cause its legal. I think the idea of people doing someing that is ilegal is the thing that also annoys me.

No disrespect to Chemical Sister, but I think assuming the Brothers are off their faces during any gig (dj set or live) is presumptuous. To suggest they are 100% sober 100% of the time is equally preseumptuous. We simply don't know, and that's that. What they do is their own business, who the heck are we to presume anything?
The legalities of drugs and alcohol and the opinions surrounding its use present a very circular argument that gets nowhere. We've argued this a million times. We all have our stories and opinions and our preferences on which way to best enjoy the music and social situations.
But to each their own. If you don't like drugs, don't take them. If you don't like drinking, then don't drink.
The "considerate" factor is all I care about in regards to gigs. Oh, and the music of course. ;)
