Moderat: II
Hate to say it, but Moderat has some intriguing sounds there. Thanks again. But please, this time, don't tell me about the shagging that might or might not have taken place to this one....
Speaking of which:

Daughter - If You Leave
Kölsch - 1977
I kept wondering if Atoms for Peace would be genuinely good, or just good by 'Supergroup' standards (Thom Yorke loves that term doesn't he?), supergroups usually being crap. So I never bought it.
Daughter - they seemed pleasant when I caught the end of their set at a music festival last summer. Their album is on sale for £4.99 in HMV at the mo. Perhaps I should give it a go at that price.
Kolsch - I love the first two tracks from the album. I've only heard brief snippets of the other tracks on amazon. The snippets didn't blow me away, but please convince me it's a good album!

How is this on nobodies favourite album of the year?! It is so 'kin good!
Yeah Rough Trade record shops, whose opinions I value, were banging on about this album a lot in the last few months. And indeed they have placed it 6th in their 101 albums of the year (with Daniel Avery in 4th. And it's not an especially electronic/dance music list). What I've heard just sounds a bit minimal and pretentious. Maybe one day it's beauty and majesty will suddenly reveal itself to me...

In approximate descending order of 'most liked'...
Daniel Avery: Drone Logic (with bonus mix cd: Divided Love II)
Queens Of The Stone Age: Like Clockwork
Moderat: II (twelve track version)
Arcade Fire: Reflektor
Primal Scream: More Light
Arctic Monkeys: AM
The National: Trouble Will Find Me
Trentmoller: Lost
Daft Punk: RAM
Vampire Weekend: Modern Vampires of the City
Acid Washed: House of Melancholy
Wild Belle: Isles
I guess it wasn't too bad a year for music. I didn't buy/hear everything I would have liked. So...
Albums I might have liked if I had actually got round to buying them:
Miles Kane: Don’t forget who you are
London Grammar: If You Wait
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds: Push the Sky Away
Fuck Buttons: Slow Focus
Bowie: The Next Day
Palma Violets: 180
Pantha Du Prince & the Bell Laboratory: Elements of Light
and the aforementioned Kolsch and Daughter albums.
