The Ultimate "favourite Song" Poll (Part 3)

For B-Sides : there are probably missing tracks. But the questions are limited to 20 answers only. So if you pick a B-Side in the 3rd question, select "Other (in B-Sides 2)" on the 2nd question.

I'm going to need to ponder these polls and think about them. Like kwiddle mentioned in the Beth poll, I may change my mind tomorrow. Maybe it's because we're women, and we can't make up our minds!
I'm interested in reading why people picked the favorites they did - like a memory or how the song makes them feel.

Me too. I might have to go through my chemical archives for this one and have a trip down memory lane before I commit...Great now I really cant get any work done cause of this!

Even though I had an intense love affair with "Don't Think" when it first came out, I chose "Flashback." This is probably my favorite B-side atm, and I know that my judgement isn't clouded by newness, which is something I'm very concerned about with "Don't Think."
PS. This list is also missing stuff like "The Rock Drill", "Life is Sweet" (Remix 1 & 2), Keeping My Composure [ Heroes OST 'original' mix], etc.

Ahh yes, definitley worth getting the Life Is Sweet single/EP for all those goodies. Life Is Sweet 1 and 2 are pretty much completely different songs all together! Both punishing beats. (In a good way of course)
OK was hard but I narrowed it down to the ones I seem to play a bit more frequently:
One I seem to go back for more for is Buzz Tracks. I just love the marriage of old skool hip hop beats on bass steriods but still manages to have that eery psychedelic atmosphere to it. Love it how one of the samples lets loose towards the end and pans to one side of the speaker or headphone likes it trying to escape. I would get that tingling feeling with a cheesy grin whilst those fat, lo-fi, drowning, bass beats would still be going off. Its a nice quick fix to make you feel like you're the shit
I really Love H.I.A too. A very appropriate title for it too, however another mystery where I dont know what the intitials stand for (like K+D+B) Love the vocal samples they used..."I want to go higher...HIGHER!" and the other vocal sample that sneaks in towards the end of the track: "Music will save you...Music will save you" Could not be more true. This one makes me feel good and reminds me why I love music so much because of what is preaching. Its the secret anthem not everyone knows about that they created which in itself is why I appreciate it as well.

Love your thoughts on H.I.A. and Flashback, Mikl and Probass. I was listening to an old mix from long ago that has H.I.A. on it and the way that song builds is intense. It's got those masterful build and release elements that make the Chems feel and communicate with a crowd. Would love to hear this at bone rattling decibels as I think it would work well on a dancefloor, bringing everyone to a fevered pitch before it erupts. I wouldn't necessarily say the song is under-appreciated by any stretch, it's just not discussed here all that much.
Flashback sounds like it crash landed from outer space. It's one of my favorites too - it's a whirlwind of sinister mayhem that feels like it's destroying everything in its wake. I love it! What's funny is I remember the first time hearing this and after Flahsback ended, Scale came on and it's the polar opposite with it's light fluttering noises and gentle builds.
Oh. Yeah, by the way. Still haven't been able to figure out my favorites! I think that since it's a poll I can't get out of my head it being a bit like the decision is set in stone. If the b-sides were separated by era then I might have an easier time of it. It's a challenge though. So I'm still giving it some thought.

I can't decide on the B-sides yet...but I think my favorite from Further is Dissolve...it's sorta like the midpoint of the album..oddly enough it is number 4 out of 8 and you're all probably saying well duh we know that..but i say that because i think perhaps Horse Power should have been moved more towards the end of the album...anyway..Dissolve..it's a song that you would get the crowd dancing but if you're at home you can just chill with it.

Finaly i voted on this one.
Hard choose between Snow & K+D+B, but i decided to check for K+D+B because Snow is "only" an extra large intro for Further. But keep in mind that the part where the bass sets in (the part where caroline jumps into the water in the visuals) is the most impressive and goosebumping moment in chemical history (more impressive than some parts of Surface To Air and complete Star Guitar incl. the amazing Michel Gondry video).
And for the B-Sides : Morning Lemon FTW. But i have to choose two B-Sides because in the second part there is no choice for "Other (in B-Sides 1)" so i take Don't Think. Not the second best non-regular-album-track (thats Hot Acid Rhythm) but the best one from the second list.

OK, so I voted for Escape Velocity as my favorite track off of Further. I have done more than my fair share of raving about how awesome I think this song is for well over a year now, and I could go on and on and on and... but I won't so I'll keep it brief. This song was love at first listen, so much build and release and all those good things that come with listening to a song that moves both emotionally and physically. To me this tune embodies everything I love about what the Chemical Brothers do.
For the b's I chose Spring. Those twinkles are pure joy set to sound. It's sunshine breaking through the clouds in the morning, and it's glittering stars on a warm spring evening. I love how lighthearted and happy this song is. It's just a lovely little tune!
But there are so many other b-sides I dig just as much. Today just happens to be Spring so who knows what tomorrow will bring.
