Hi there,

I want to know which album "Spitirualized - I Think I'm in Love (Chemical Brothers Vocal Remix)" appeared on.

I found this one http://www.discogs.com/release/54047, which is the Spiritualized single, but that only has the Chemical Brothers Remix and the Chemical Brothers Instrumental Remix.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The only time it should up on a Chemical Brother's album was on the "Brothers Gonna Work It Out" DJ mix album, by The Chemical Brothers. (the last track on the DJ set)

However, If your looking for the original Spiritualized track on an album. Its located on this Spirtualized album "Ladies And Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space" (track 3)

If you want to dig a little deeper, the Chems vocal remix and Chems instrumental remix both appear on Spiritualized's single for I Think I'm In Love.

It is so incredible and lush and my favorite Chems remix for one of my favorite Spiritualized songs. The vocal remix of I Think I'm In Love one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard. I still get chills when I hear it.

Thanks for all the replies, this forum is great!

I completely agree that Spiritualized are amazing. The song Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space has been a favourite of mine for a long time, since I first heard it on Vanilla Sky. Extremely moving. Reminds me a little of the end of God Only Knows by The Beach Boys :)

Thanks again for all the help.

You are most welcome, SubJunk! :)

It's cool to see another Spiritualized fan on board. And you aren't far off the mark with the Beach Boys reference - they have been a mighty influence on Spiritualized. Anyway, I absolutely adore Spiritualized. Their albums Lazerguided Melodies and Ladies And Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space saw me through some interesting and life altering times.

It's all tagged correctly now I think. I have the tags set as:

Title: I Think I'm in Love (Chemical Brothers Vocal Remix)

Arist: Spiritualized

Album: I Think I'm in Love (CDS)

Year: 1998

Track #: 2

I can definitely hear the Beach Boys so I'm not surprised. If you're a fan of The Beach Boys I also recommend a CD I got last weekend, "The Very Best Of". It has 30 songs on it (bless the Boys for making such short, to-the-point songs) but what makes it great is the digital remastering is really quite good.

Apart from a couple of songs like Help Me Rhonda, in which the vocals have been slightly over-crystalized, the mastering really does a great job of sorting out the individual instruments of the original recordings, making the sound more defined. I thoroughly recommend it.

I'm downloading the album Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space now, just to tide me over until the weekend when I can go out and buy it. I will look for the other album you mentioned, too.

I just signed up for the newletter on spiritualized.com too, you might want to too if you haven't already :)

Nice to meet you, by the way, all of you seem like a really nice bunch (of course it's no coincidence that true Chems fans are good people, music taste is very telling of character I think :))

Yep, I like the Beach Boys but admitedly I'm not a super huge fan. I do have loads of respect for them - they are iconic of California beach music and therefore sort of grew up with them on the radio (not that i'm a sun worshipper but I've lived in California pretty much most my life), their production was awesome, their harmonies and melody set them apart from other bands of the time and you gotta love a band that uses a thermin. Nice. I have a best of disc, the Beach Boys Classics compiled by Brian Wilson and Endless Summer on vinyl which sadly gets no play since I don't have a record player.

As for Spiritualized I can't recommend them enough and I hope you really dig them. Lyrics that indicate a good soul constantly wrestling with his demons... Ladies And Gentlemen is a great album though I do confess I skip over No God Only Religion - it's a bit too white noise for my taste. But alongside Ladies And Gentlemen and I Think I'm In Love, the songs Stay With Me and Home of the Brave (one of my husband's fave songs) are incredible. I love the gospel influence, the blues undertones and how it ties into what's going on in the album.

My favorite album of theirs by far is Lazerguided Melodies - a real desert island pick for me. It's stellar in every way... a fan of droning carrier wave noises, phaser sounds and reverb that I am. We knew this guy who turned us on to Spiritualized a few years back. He swears the album helped him beat cancer, for what it's worth to strangers on the 'net. The song Sway is a personal favorite of mine. like I said earlier about the albums seeing me through some heavy times I'd have to say Sway is the song that is pinnacle in that it means quite a lot to me.

Another one that's good is Pure Phase - if you continue onward in your Spiritualized journey it's a good one to have. Sort of a cross roads between Lazerguided Melodies and Ladies And Gentlemen. And it's got some epic, drawn out jams/songs that are easy to get lost in. Another one I very much enjoy is Let It Come Down which I felt was sadly underrated. It took forever for J. Pierce to make that album (much to his label's dismay) and the result was like his dream realized - he employed a 100+ piece orchestra and painstakingly arranged each fragment, each melody you hear on that album and put it down to a musical science. Heavy on the production and heavy on the Beach Boys influence, but surprisingly (or not, depending on how you look at it) influenced by jazz. I think Let It Come Down may have been too bombastic for peoples' tastes, it may have been too ambitious or even pretentious, and that could very well be why it didn't get the praise it deserved.

On a slightly negative note, I can't say I was thrilled to pieces over Amazing Grace although there are a couple of songs on there that make up for it. It's definitely rougher around the edges - the band are comprised of different people, so it's a natural given the sound has evolved.

The live albums are great such as Live At Royal Albert Hall. But the best live album of theirs is Fucked Up Inside... there's a rawness and sonic fullness to it that can be overwhelming for some, but I love it so much. Too bad it's hard as hell to find in a shop.

And there I go on babbling again. X-D

No that's awesome, babble all you want. I'm learning a lot about a band I'm about to get into in a big way (or at least give it a really good go!)
