GLAKO-FAHN Escribi:

I'm pretty sure that it was live! Live guitarist, live vocals, live synth playing, effects box tweaking, and mixing. Whats so pre-recorded about that?

clear that wax outta your ear boy!!! live vocals yes, live effects yes, live hbhg mix at the start yes. but the rest was a backing track, the same mix of the golden path they used on confront your demons i.e. a dub mix with the delta fx at the end. the whole sound was too polished cos it was a backing track from the studio. if it was a true live performance the chems would have totally fucked about with that track, like they do in any of thier live sets. tom would have been on a mixing desk fucking with all the noises. he's only playing a guitar cos miming on a mixing desk looks shit!!!

that said it was nice to see the tom and ed join the flaming lips on stage to celebrate the golden path, especially after what some people have said about it. watching the awards was a chore, this performance made worth its while. especially as i could turn the tv of after the performance!!!

Recorded to VHS.
He put on a turn-down collar, a black bow, and wore his Sunday tail-coat. As such, he looked spruce, and what his clothes would not do, his instinct for making the most of his good looks would.

One unanswered question - to those who dislike the golden path, studio version, did you enjoy it live? I haven't seen it yet, but i'd imagine that I wouldn't be too impressed with it, I really don't like the golden path, sorry peeps. But I'm open to change, I might get to see it tomorrow

Well I thought the chems were great, don't really care if the production etc was recorded. I'm sure Wayne Coyne was live...

You can now watch the performance online at the MTV EMA website, and you can also watch an interview with the Chems and Wayne Coyne as they talk about the performance, the show, the kylie remix and others. The links are below:

Hahaha, cool! What fun, watched like a postcard picture perfect greeting that reads"Wish You Were Here!." Great intro, both seemed so into it - Tom's a natural - a real rock-stah!

I'm not a big fan of this track and i was dissapointed when they played it live.To be honest it sounded crap and i'm wondering where the Chems are heading, Yeah I saw Tom on the guitar and he looked out of place If u ask me. I just hope the Chems keep producing quality music rather than slipping, which I think is happening... :(

The only part of the performance that kept me a bit interested was the intro playin "Hey Boy Hey Girl" that was the only cool part of it.

Whatever. The track is brilliantly powerful - almost overwhelming, but not hard.
