Not to bum you guys or anything, but I saw Underworld at the Hollywood Bowl and it was Underwealming. The bass lines did not sounds as rich as they should have, the stopped serving beer way to early and the show had to end way to early due to noise ordinances. The venue just didn't seem to fit electronic music...seems more like a place to see Bon Iver or something.
Don't get me wrong...I would be stoked as fuck to go if I lived in the area...go see them if you can. I would happy if they played any venue of any kind in my area...period. It's been over 10 years since they came through Atlanta.
...my point is that you shouldn't overhype the bowl. It is what it is.
ps- Hopefully, the Chems know to bring in more bassmakers. ;)

I am aware of the noise ordinances at the Bowl causing early gigs - I guewss if I were expecting a rave I'd be a little bummed, but did not know about the alcohol. I don't plan on drinking during the show so... those aspects aren't really a deterrence at all.
I admit I am concerned about the sound. But I always am unless it's a sure shot like, say Coachella. I've only seen the Chems at a festival level and they've brought the sky down every time. I'm confidence they'll bring the bass like they've done before.
I'm just looking forward to enjoying it for what it is, meeting up with some fine folks, and spending a warm summer night outdoors and hearing some kick ass music at high decibles. It will be my first time seeing the Chems headline their own gig.
On that note Paul McCartney is playing the Bowl at the end of March. It would be tempting if I wouldn't have to sell a kidney to afford tickets.

No dice on a response from the Hollywood Bowl. I've been checking including my spam. My guess is it got deleted or they never bothered replying.
I just tried to send them another 3 mails (one to my other email account, too) but the page keeps loading and loading. Could be server issues with freaking out McCartney fans so I don't know. If anyone else wants to copy and paste my email from page 2 of this thread and try sending off an email and see if your luck is better than mine - please have at it. I'll keep trying.

Like I said, whirly, I would be stoked regardless. I just wanted to give a heads up, so you guys can expect what might go down. The biggest bright side is that you get to see them again...and with a possible new show and possible new music. I'm jealous, really.
From my experience, I would suggest getting as close to the stage as you can without getting into trouble(ticket/security wise).

Nice! That settles that, start saving for those garden seats, wonder if it's untra-elitist seating where they serve you champaine (probably not to prevent spillers) and other such items suited for the individual who appreciates the finer things in life (que snobby classical music)

So you are saying I could buy 1 ticket for $116 or 116 tickets for $1. A souviener ticket for every forum member who could not make it.

I think I'll buy a $1 ticket just for the hell of owning a $1 ticket.....and Then I'll buy the $116 dollar ticket.
Are we going to have another case like the Roundhouse incident....I'm scared!
