i love this thread cant beat a good bit of daft punk bashing!!! and no one has even mentioned discovery yet!!!
its amazing how people have seen a few pictures and a couple of video's taken on a dodgy mobile camera. and they are the best band in the world suddenly. i saw them in 97 they were alright nothing that special
discovery is a damn sight better than human!!! jesus the only half decent track is robot rock, and even that sucks compared to the maximum over-drive remix.
i have to admit, the "live" set up looks good....for a cd playing with 2 blokes in robot suits jumping around....
the vid of them on google video from '97 is terrible, awful set. bad sounds mixed badly with drum loops in the wrong places and just plain boring....
im so not up for seeing them in barca now....ill prob just do loads of heroin and flake out with all my uber rare toys.....

and for the chems not changing their tunes from one year to the other : you're wrong ! They always modified the way they play Song to The Siren/Leave Home, same thing for Under the Influence and It Doesn't matter (in Come with us tour, IDM wasn't there at all), Block Rocking Beats intro changed several times, they have reintroduced a new version of Chemical Beats, new version of EBW6, etc
hey boy hey girl on the come with us tour was awesome!! different structure and it was wicked mid set

Four Moog Voyager analog synthesizers.
Two Berringer MCR-2000 midi controllers.
Two monitor screens from two Mac G5s running Abelton LIVE 3.0 loop sequencer software, fed through16 Universal Audio Digital-to-Analog converters.
as for whether Daft Punk is better then the Chemical Brothers live, I wouldnt know, i havent seen either one. But its cool to see that the Chemical Brothers have some competition in the department.
And as of right now, whether you like it or not, Daft Punk is the biggest and most wanted electronic group out there right now. And all that is only being said, just because of the concert on Saturday night! It should be cool to see how Daft Punk handles that, and how the Chemical Brothers react to it after being on top for soooooo many years.
As for you Daft Punk Bashers, find a new hobby!

How about Daft Punk Cock Suckers find a new forum? Seriously, to imply that a pseudo pop electronic act is anywhere near where the Chems are artisticly is just insulting.

Stash, you act like were forcing you to listen to daft punk....if you dont like it, dont listen to it or if there is a topic about it dont read it! and I understand this topic was ment to provoke argument, but dont get all bent out of shape about it.
chemd up---
about the equipment, i PMed the guy who spoke about it in the choachella forum, and awaiting his answer. So the equipment part might be false.......but I dont know why he would make up such a thing.

ive never been on a chems-performance before, but it sure sounds smashin! and if you compare daft punks and chemical brothers live shows, daft punks music sound a bit simple! but thats what their music is: simple! yet very very good! chems music is more of complexity, if you know what i mean!
i dont doubt for a second that daft punk played live at coachella this year! they have all the experience, so why wouldnt they? :?
and rumours have it, that when the chemical brothers played here in sweden at the Hultsfred Festival, they played from a DAT-tape so.. but i doubt they did that..
so i think daft punk as capable of playin live as the chems! my opinion..

I get your point, but turning this into a Daft Punk Forum is like turning it into the Brokeback Fanclub Site.
yeah, i dont seem to understand why there is so many topics for daft punk either? Ive always tried to keep it in one topic when i post about them, so that there isnt too many threads about it. But your right, it has gotten out of hand :?
Seriously, these guys are somewhere under Groove Armada in terms of imagination and talent, what's the attraction?
hm....have you listened to daft punk's "alive 1997".......your opinions might change. I agree, Daft Punk's output has gone down ever since Homework, but they have a presence in their music, that keeps me wanting more.
