Got my year results back today, the bastards have capped me at 40% for 2 of the 3 bits of work I handed in late after America. Another 2 bits were capped but that?s fair enough, I handed them in late because im rubbish.

End result is I only got 56% when you need 60% to get onto the final year.

Spoke to the head of year for the final year and im top of the reserves list but I wont find out for definite for another 2 weeks if im on or not.

Whats really gutting is that all of my work that wasn?t capped was well over 60% - my lowest mark was 64%.

What. A. twat.

Im gonna appeal for the last 2 bits anyway, I told them I was doing ?work experience? in America so had extenuating circumstances. Have to see what happens

:(

School is overrated.

Go and get a 6 week microsoft computer certification, then be a fuck-off tech support guy.

I'd love to do that stash, I really would. Seriously, it's the avenue I'm looking to get into career wise. Only problem is, it's so expensive! The exam fees and course fees take the piss - how are people supposed to be able to afford it? Most courses are aimed with sponsorship in mind, but there isn't a lot of those out there.

Doesn't matter though, I may only be 22, but I already know that work sucks, period. :x

Over here it's only like $3,000 for a complete MCSE course. That's still a chunk of change, but nothing compared to even Junior College.

Ahh, but over here university students get a 'student loan' to cover living expenses etc, and it's paid back once you earn over 15,000, and takes years to pay back. Can't get one for IT quals though :x

I managed to get through my first 4 years university paying cash because my job pays pretty well. Last year was the first that I had to take out a line of credit, mostly because of partying too much instead of saving, and then which I mostly spent going to London for NYE. :D

that's utter bullshit... you can't go to school for something that will get you a good job right out of the gate, but you can get paid to take Renaissance Navel Gazing 101.

Sort of, yeah. Most degree courses will lead to a good job, except some of the weird ones like Dance or something like that. But you can get a student loan for it, which does suck.

Yeah there is so many bullshit degrees these days that are meaningless. I think alot of people do degrees these days to avoid working and for an easy lifestyle for 3 years.

Welcome back FlamingDead!

Not much has happened in the past 3 weeks, just chit chatting here and there, people are getting geared up for the Summercase fest in Spain and Fabric.

I really hope that the chems play a US dj date at some points for the likes of you whirly. Its easy for me all the time, never have to travel that far, lucky I guess.

I'm sure hope they'll come back to do some dj sets in the States at some point. I think it would be a good opportunity not just for me but for people like chemicalreaction and Bosco who would probably give their left nuts just to see them perform. I got to see them dj 2 times and didn't have to travel far, even for the live sets and I know I'm lucky. The last time I saw the Chems dj I had so much going on personally and getting to go was a last minute thing... it was the best remedy. I am so thankful for that time and can't wait to experience it again!
