Hmm, that's interesting. I wouldn't have thought that it's one of theirs, just one that they always play.

We asked Ed for the name of the tune and he didnt tell us, so is probably a original track.

yeah makes it interesting when we dj

"yeah chebbers where's the one that goes.....do dah fizz bang etc"

"erm. no idea what you're on about mate - do you know what colour the sleeve is?"

to add further confusion. we tend to give records our own names....usually based on a pun on the artists name or some random waffle.

we also do this with football players which confuses people who watch a game with us.

That's funny! I think you should make a marketing thing out of it. An online platform where people can ask you about music they don't know the names of. Chebbers knows the titles and mips has the melodies alright in his mind. So let me start by that beat: bam bam bam bambam bam bam bam bambam (loop) . . .
E(argasm) = m(usic) x c(hemicals)²

Cool link, Irish Fan!

Ok all, I've settled on it now, and I'm out on a mission for the following:

Chemical Brothers - EBW6

DJ Milo/Impulsion - Return of the original artform/Higher

Paul Woolford - Erotic Discourse

Soulwax - Miserable Girl

Emmanuel Top - Lobotomie

"Galloping Horse"

Josh Wink - Superfreak (Dean Coleman remix)

Tata Box Inhibitors - Plasmids

Vitalic - La Rock 01

And a cheeky one to end on (which I hope they'll play on NYE):

Chemical Brothers - The Rock Drill

Wish me luck guys!!

Don't know if this post will be too late, but....

Don't play him anything at all and tell him that if he wants to come to Turnmills just to come with an open mind and with the intention of haveing fun. If he wants to have a good night he will dance to anything anyway so just leave it as that.

BINGO!

Well, not sure it entirely worked. His attitude was pretty much - "I don't mind that kind of music, I'll just get really pissed and it won't matter". He seems up for meeting up in the pub to get to know the forumites, which is pretty cool. However, he's never done an all-nighter before, and I know from experience that getting drunk is not a good plan for an all-nighter (as I'm sure Jeanie & I-Punk will agree with!), but he insists that's his plan. I did explain how expensive drinks are in Turnmills, and he looked stunned and disheartened - until I mentioned that there is usually a spliff or two floating around. It should be alright, both Rich and I are pretty old hat at the all night London clubbing thing, we know about taking breaks and stuff so should be able to help him survive 8)

A promising point is that he also asked for a copy of the CD I played, so he could listen to it while he plays poker (he's pretty good at it). He described it as "good coz there's energy but no lyrics to distract you". Which is fair enough I think :)

Jeanie .... ? Nah mate i didnt get pissed !! I only had water ... I was a good girl :P

But well , my opinion is , dont take anybody with you who is not bang up for it. Its gonna be a celebration and you do NOT want to have somebody along that you might be worried about ` Will he like it ...... ? you know what i mean ? Thats just my opinion though.

I do agree with you Jeanie, but he's kind of invited himself. It's a bit weird really, it's come from nothing. I think it'll be ok, I'm getting him on a trial run at a local club next week - it's only open till 2-3am but it will be playing tech-house. He'll be alright, you can't help but get involved at a Chems set, it's just not possible to ignore it

I was pretty drunk and very pilled. I'm actually surprised how coherent I was and how I remember the whole night.

What i do remember was champagne. The only kind of "drug " i took all evening.

And this year i'll prob wont remember much. It's gonna be a big party with all things that come with that!
