YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH
France in the final !!!! I'm so fucking happy right now !
The portugueses had hard time keeping their balance in front of the goal
Haha, yeah. A hard time keeping their balance indeed :D
I hope France win the cup, the italians should have losed to Australia imo.

Back from the Champs Elyses, where I went with my sister ! I had a french flag on my back and she had a french team shirt. The Champs Elyses were completely crowded ! There was policemen and firemen everywere for the security, people shouting, singing the Marseillaise, or "l'Italie, serre les fesses, on arrive toute vitesse !" (literally : "Italia, hold tight your ass, we're coming full speed")

Zidane...why did he do that ? Such a great sportsman , such an honest player usually , and he left his last match in a way that is so not like him...i'm gutted that he let himself go like that and left the field like that....
I think france deserved to win , but i'm not sad Italia won. I wouldve been sad if Portugal won!

:'( So sad for France. Italy didn't deserve to win at all, and It's sad for Zidane to leave the world of football like that. I think what he did was purely impulsive, that italian guy must have said him a very nasty thing... Anyway we're 2nd, and nobody expected us to go that far so that's cool, but Italy do not deserve at all this match, and the world cup. AND again, the referee sucks, we could have had another penalty in the 2nd half...
But Zidane rocks anyway, he is/was a great player, and that headbutt looks so powerful :) I think the italian guy deserved it

I think I could agree with you, Italy didn't deserve to win the (horrible) match, but I think Italy did deserve the worldcup. ;)
Anyway, in 1998 it was the opposite, Italy deserved to win but France won the match.

Great game, pleased to see Italy win - good team and a country full of very nice people. I've been more impressed with them than the French, although they must have done something right to get to the final :P. People were saying Italy were disappointing last night but both sides make England look like a pub team.
Great World Cup overall, really enjoyed it this time round. Didn't get to see most of the later stages of it due to being at work, but it was all good.
South Africa 2010 anyone?

Zinedine Zidane won the Golden Ball award for the World Cup's best player, despite being dismissed for headbutting Marco Materazzi in the final.
France captain Zidane polled 2012 points in the vote by journalists mostly carried out at half-time.
The midfielder, 34, beat Italians Fabio Cannavaro (1977 points) and Andrea Pirlo (715 points) in the ballot.
[...]
"The vast majority of those votes were cast by journalists before the final was over and that I'm sure is why Zidane has come out top," Farquhar told BBC Radio Five Live.
[...]
Other players on the Golden Ball shortlist included Maniche (Portugal), Michael Ballack (Germany), Gianluca Zambrotta (Italy), Thierry Henry (France), Gianluigi Buffon (Italy), Patrick Vieira (France) and Miroslav Klose (Germany).
