Only a couple of my friends like Chems - most of them really just don't get anything but Elektrobank. Perhaps Chemical Brothers music is an acquired taste...

In my HUMBLE opinion, some people are just afraid to explore further. They stick with the radio and refure to listen to better music... Or maybe they just don't understand GOOD music. Beat those fuckheads! :x

All my friends know me as the electronica/techno kid (even though I Like every type of music) and most spaz out and go nuts when ever I put some on in the car (most just refuse to ride if they don't play their music, it's really funny). Most of them are close minded and wont listen to it just to see if they like it. I always tell them that there is bad electronica/techno and good electronica/techno just like there is bad other music and good other music. But my friends that do like some of it I always ask them, if they had ear infections when they were young, and most of them say they have.

I honestly think that we hear things differently. Like every now and then My hearing will slip in and out of modes, and I'll heard things a different way. It's a very odd experience

I'd say only half my friends who are really into music do it in an open-minded way. Too many people approach music as a life style, waking up thinking I'm going to act punk/indie/ghetto/raver/so-on, you know... Stuff that goes beyond the cds.

as much as I hate to be full of myself I'd say I'm the most extreme case among the people i know for covering a wide spectrum of music. guess the best example to is that my second favorite band is bob marley and the wailers followed by talking heads... there's a little odd thing about me in case you end up on a gameshow (god forbid) and have to give a fact about the Biff in order to win that trip to club med in Guyana.

I get pissed off how good dance music in this country (UK) is forgotten, whilst radio stations carry on playing the lame stuff like DJ Sammy, Love inc, Lasgo etc. Pop trance music (imo) has ruined the dance music scene here. Trance music used to be good but it has turned into a joke (that's not even funny). It all sounds the same, the same old bassline (or lack of), big beats and huge big snare things everywhere. Radio stations think 'You're a superstar' by Love inc is one of the best dance songs ever made (I think its one of the worst - I mean they might as well but DJ Otzi's 'Hey baby' on while they're at it). People should be remembering songs by class artists such as Leftfield, The chems etc (I'm sure we could name loads more!).

Sorry if I appear narrow-minded, but I wasn't trying to be!

btw, people say the reason Radio 1 is failing is because of the DJs. I think its because of the music.
