I just made an article on Facebook about my 10 favorites album in 2010 (plus a few runner-ups, and a few that I found terrible)
http://www.facebook....171076686248798
It's in French though. If you don't want to click, here's the summary :

1. Noisia - Split the Atom
2. The Chemical Brothers - Further
3. King Cannibal - The Way of The Ninja
4. Gorillaz - Plastic Beach
5. Eskmo - Eskmo
6. Andreya Triana - Lost where I belong
7. Massive Attack - Heligoland
8. Misteur Valaire - Golden Bombay
9. DeadMau5 - 4x4=12
10. Röyksopp - Senior

Runner-ups :
Various Artists - Ninja Tune XX
Simian Mobile Disco - Delicacies
Bonobo - Black Sands
LCD Soundsystem - This is Happening
Bot'ox - Babylon by car
Caribou - Swim
Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross - The Social Network OST

Worst :
Crookers - Tons of friends
Crystal Castles - Srystal Castles II
Rusko - OMG
The Count & Sinden - Mega Mega Mega

i have to disagree with you about Count & Sinden and Crookers. Didn´t think they were so terrible, in fact, i enjoyed them, colourful and varied. The new LCD was a bit more of the same, so not very excited.

i´ll add Swedish House MAfia (commercial house at its best), Booka Shade and the astounding Biutiful Gustavo Santaolalla OST. Don´t remember more right now.

As for my favorite album, my signature says it all. But, then again, I haven't actually heard any of the others on that list. I should probably check some of those out sometime, since I've heard such good things. Especially Noisia, I've never gotten into them but I think I want to now. Ben_j, is there a particular album I should start with?

Well, for worst albums, the worst for me was Shinichi Osawa's SO2. Awful album compared to The One. Here's what I said about it before, commenting on a blog post highly praising the album (spoiler tags are to condense the text) :

Spoiler
It's a little harsher than I might put it now, some of the tracks have grown on me a bit (like MORPHY), but I still don't like it. And I fking hate TECHNODLUV.

Barking was disapointing too. Initially I liked it, but it's worn off now. That album's way too poppy and commercial - and I'm not one of those "do another Born Slippy .NUXX" purists either (BS.N is just a reverbed kick drum with Karl yelling stuff anyway), Barking simply stinks. The alternate versions are slightly better, but not by much.

My one big disagreement is Crystal Castles -- that album was awesome! I mean, their first album was awesome, but their older stuff all had the same beat. Its time to move on, and so they did with "Crystal Castles (2010)"

And Whitenoise, I agree: Barking was really commercial in the derogative sense. I just never liked it to begin with--I only kept 2-3 songs.

Well, I'm checking out the new Deadmau5 and SMD albums. How am I just NOW hearing about these releases? :???:

You can all download Misteur Valaire for free, or just listen to the whole album. It's fantastic.

And I strongly recommend Noisia to everybody here !

further of course, also MGMT's congratulations, The books new album is ok.

Also about barking, i agree it's commercial especially bird 1, between stars, and grace, which by the way i think thoughs songs are terrible.

although scribble and diamond jigsaw has a commercial touch to them, there amazing songs.

I have to say that Barking was a disappointment for me in comparison to the original versions of all the tracks - You Do Scribble, for instance, is in my opinion one of their best tracks, yet the version they put on the album is practically a High Contrast remix. Diamond Jigsaw, too, is really underwhelming compared to the original, and this is especially bad because they put an even earlier demo version on the bonus disc than the one I'm talking about. Listen here.
And don't even get me started on Always Loved A Film.

"He" is a band :) 5 young french canadians, they're 23 years old. There's a drummer/scratcher/loop launcher, a keyboardist(electric organ)/trumpetist, a bassist/keyboardist(Yamaha AN1X), a keyboardist/saxophonist and a loop launcher/effects triggerer/sometimes singer

A few cool tracks to get you in the mood :

If you ever have the occasion to see them live (which is pretty unlikely outside of Canada), go ! Their live is the best
