This thread is for listing each track on The Chemical Brother's newest CD, Push The Button. Put down each track on the CD, describe your interpretation of it, and give a 1-10 review. Thanks!

1. Galvanize- When i first heard this, I said,"there's no way this is Chemical Brothers!" This is a definite change from the usual beats of The Chems, but this is not a song lacking in greatness. Great beats, nice rapping, and more of those voice samples that sound like my family make this a great intro to this new CD. 9/10

2. The Boxer- My interpretation of this song is like taking all the good pop music from the last 31/2 decades and mixing it with traditional Chemical Brothers drumming. I likey. 10/10

3. Believe- Reminds me of 90's dance music. Not bad, it's just..average. The blending into songs that The Chemical Brothers use is present here again. 6/10

4. Hold Tight London- This is definitely a good song. Very trancy, well, not trancy, but you know. Like that. It might not be the song i'd pick for the next single, but it's very fun to listen to nonetheless. I like it. 7/10

5. Come inside-Would you like to come in now? Would you like to come inside? Ha. This is very good to listen to at any time. The voice sampling in this is good, the drums are good. Nothing special, but it's good. Lol. It's very..good. 7/10

6. The Big Jump- This is a song with some really neat aspects to it. I like "The Big..Jump!" that keeps repeating. I like all the weird sound effects like the buzzing and the female voice doing that "ah er ah" sound. 9/10

7. Left Right- Ehhh..nah. The least favorite of mine on this CD, this feels less like any type of techno music and just reminds me that rap that I ever so much dislike. I don't mind it, I guess, but I wouldn't call it one I'd be too eager to play. 3/10

8. Close Your Eyes- This reminds me of that weird group The Polyphonic Spree. :) It's very light and fuzzy, and very calm. It makes me sleepy to listen to sometimes. Goodnight...7/10

9. Shake Break Bounce- Whoever doesn't like this song is a jerk! I love this song so much! It definitely feels like a genuine latin dance song (with some really odd effects to go along). Hachachacha...cha..you know. 9/10

10. Marvo Ging- I likey a lot! This is an excellent song, and the muffled drums as well as the steady rythmn are just kick ass. I really like this one a lot. Don't really understand the title though. Some joke I don't get or something. I am very naiive that way. 10/10

11. Surface To Air- Reminds me of Dream On for their new CD. They were always good at closing them. This song is beautiful, from start to finish, with a very happy, upbeat, masterpiece feel to it. It kinda seems like they were drawing me in, saying that this CD is done and they are on to the next frontier. I really love it. 10/10

Overall..8/10. A great CD, and other than for Left Right, an excellent change of pace for them that i would definitely recommend for anyone.

Huzzah! :)

Left Right is an amazing track. One of the best by them.

This is a pretty good idea for a thread that can inspire some good discussion, but to be honest I'm a bit tuckered out from the Let's Talk About Push The Button!!! thread (not to mention I am biased since it is my thread) to repeat myself here. ;)

I also don't think I can rate these songs from 1-10. Some days the songs stand totally on their own, other days the songs all work together as one piece. One day I think a song is an 8, the next day I think it's a 10. It's just not flat across the board with me. Sure the Chems can always manage to change my mood at will, it just depends on what mood I'm in going into it.

But anyway, it will be interesting to see how other people compare in the ratings. Just cause I'm not taking part doesn't mean I don't enjoy seeing what you all have to say!
be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle

1. Galvanize - 4/10

2. The Boxer - 5/10

3. Believe - 8/10

4. Hold Tight London - 6/10

5. Come inside - 7/10

6. The Big Jump - 6/10

7. Left Right - 6/10

8. Close Your Eyes - 7/10

9. Shake Break Bounce - 2/10

10. Marvo Ging - 7/10

11. Surface To Air - 6/10

Conclusion: the worst album since 'Surrender'. This album lacks everything that made EPD and DYOH such great albums, namely experimentation, beats and cool samples. It's clear to me they have chosen to play it the safe way these days, which is a shame. And when a Chemical Brothers song ends up high in the commercial charts and all your buddies who normally listen to Robbie Williams and Maroon 5 all of a sudden like this song you just know something is wrong...

Well i mean I wouldn't classify them as 1-10 all the time, I see what you mean(Go to Led-Zeppelin.com, my preferences change for my fave song almost every day). But you know, a quick review.

And slipvin, you need to be a little more easygoing. They've gotten on the charts before, this is just a new direction they're going in.

1. Galvanize - 8/10 (little too long for this kind of song IMO)

2. The Boxer - 10/10 (well yes it's kind a pop but I can't stop listening it :))

3. Believe - 8/10 (great song but "back to the past" is something I don't like )

4. Hold Tight London - 7/10 (dunno what to say)

5. Come inside - 10/10 (great song for partys and home)

6. The Big Jump - 10/10 (looove it)

7. Left Right - 7/10 (it's not bad song but we could live without it)

8. Close Your Eyes - 7/10 (well too sentimental for me)

9. Shake Break Bounce - 7/10 (it remind's me on Galaxy bounce, not long enough and like something is missing but i love it too :))

10. Marvo Ging - 9/10 (simple, cool, nice song)

11. Surface To Air - 7/10 (too bad for end of the song)

I like this album very much., nothing great, nothing bad, just a good solid album( 7/10 )

and even musically the track is really awesome after the first "left right left right", it is a strong song lik eall of them. what i dont understnad is why people are so emotional about the chems sometimes. they arent gods or something, just normal people that have the talent to make music and im sure thats what they think too.
