LOL ;-) ...why though ???

btw : i think gigrobotdacciaio is bullshiting when he said he knows everything about the new album

Oh no! You've discovered the Truth! Anyway after tuesday night I maybe know something more than you, that is I've been at the CB's Djset in Florence. I don't know what usually Cb do in theirlive performance 'cause that has been my first experience, anyway they've improvised with never heard track and using turntable a lot. At the end theyve played just 4-5 of their album tracks. It has been wonderful! 4 hours non-stop of Big Beat while Tom screamed "Come on! Are you having fun?"and whatever else I didn't understand cause of the bass case against my legs and Ed sticked his hands up to lead all the audience in rythm... I collected myself just today, until yesterday I was a ghost wandering in my little town... I mean: I'm expecting a great new album, they looked inspired

:D

I know what you mean about those onstage Tom and Ed's pump-up-the-crowd gestures. They didn't preview any new material at the last gig I went to, as it was more a special promotion of their Singles 10 year thing - and even though I had a massive time as were other people jammed in the front of the stage, I heard the crowd was really tough (I don't know, I didn't look behind me the whole time!) It seems like the crowd were really into it at the gig where you saw them.

The first time I saw them dj, they closed the evening of a festival and came on after Fatboy. They were having a great night, I could tell by their mannerisms. I'd heard they were going to play a couple of new tracks, one which had Afrika ka ka ka ka bits and another one which I had to spot. I thought, since I am a crappy trainspotter when it comes to stuff I've ever heard before, how in the hell am I gonna know when their new tracks are being played???

Simple. Besides them being relentless with their musical onslaught as well as signature Chemical noises, they would get these huge smiles on their faces and hug eahc other - Ed would hold his fist in the air and Tom would get that "oh please, come on, you can do better than that!" look. Now you know what I'm talking about. The set was relentless and all I could think was "this must be It Began In Afrika... this must be that Galaxy Bounce song I better keep dancing even though I've endured an entire day in the blasted desert sun!" God I was so exhausted. Those looks on their faces and the wild hand gestures... how could you not want to let them down?

Sorry this is so long, it's like I get glint whenever I talk about stuff like this...

Reading this, I've just realized we look like two talking about their experience with the same drug... so you know what I've felt :)

for those who don't get the astralwerks news letter. the exciting bits are in red

Tom & Ed rang in 2004 in style with a New Year's Eve

set at Turnmills in London that by all accounts

brought the house down. Congrats once more to Joe

Fernandez, winner of our Golden Path Ticket contest

who flew to England for the festivities. The Chems are

now hard at work in the studio once more but we don't

expect them to stay holed up forever. Stay tuned for a

major announcement coming soon that will have some of

you seeking out the sunshine.

In the meantime, the latest single from the 'Singles

93 - 03' collection is picking up steam in the clubs,

on the air and on TV. "Get Yourself High" is taking

the music world by storm, featuring the booming vocals

of Canadian hip-hop star k-os over a massive Chemical

Brothers production. Check out their site for the

equally stunning video, showing Kung-Fu Theatre the

way it oughta be. The commercial single hits stores

this month on CD and 12" vinyl. With remixes from the

likes of Felix Da Housecat and Switch as well as an

extended version from Tom & Ed themselves, you're

gonna need this one.

Stay tuned for more news on The Chems coming soon,

including a very exciting announcement about a few dj

gigs.

looks like the chems will be djing in america again, you luck people!!

infact that 'seeking out the sunshine' makes me think are they making a trip to miami for the 'winter music conference' in march??? every year my friends and i talk about going to the WMC and every year we dont. if they play i better start saving!!

sneakerbeater, our own Chemical Sleuth!

If indeed they play the Winter Music Conference... you might be making another stop in N. America besides Toronto and New York!

As for the other gigs... they already played the 4 in the US back in October so they might be giving Canada some love this time around. Or maybe S. America? Or maybe anType will get his wish and they will make a special stop in Asia.

The world is their oyster, that's for sure. I just hate cliff hangers, I want to know right this second where their next stops are going to be!

Unfortunately, since I have not been on a plane since March of 2000, I have no idea how much flights are - I know flights were really cheap last year but now things are picking up so they might be more expensive.

CheapTickets.com seems to be a good place to get airfaire and I've used them before but only domestically in the US, and I don't know if the rates can be converted to English pounds. (???)

My favorite airline that seems to be the best quality over any other I've flown is Virgin. They fly to just about every major US city from the UK and the prices are fair if not an even better deal than American or United. Plus coach class is like riding business class! I'm sure you already knew that but I thought I'd throw it in there. ;)

-> $80 from Toronto to Miami - my grandparents went just yesterday.

Could their new album contains remixes, like that one of Minogue's "Body language"?

At their gig in Florence they 've played it and just yesterday I've seen on MTV Dance Floor Chart the interview they've had before that same peformance. They said: well... we'll play stuff never heard before."

Infact I've recognoized just 3 songs of theirs. All the rest was "new". No shadow of vocalist, a lot of instrumental.

I THINK IS BETTER MORE INSTRUMENTAL STUFF, MAYBE ONLY ONE VOCAL SONG....I EXPECT IN CHEMICAL 5 MORE INSTRUMENTAL.
