Okay , i listened to the track again and i am listening to it now.
This is a grower. Fore sure. I already appreciate it much more!
I think when you are a big fan of somebody's music and you heard the music so many times , unwanted you have a certain idea of how the next song has to sound. Its hard to listen to a piece of music objective. I tried but still i think "This is so different from their previous stuff" U cant help it when you listen to somebody's music day and night.
Anyway - they are taking it to a whole nother level with 9 and Do It Again. Wether you like that level or not is totaly up to the listener!
The thing i love about Tom and Ed is that they are not afraid to make a pice of music that is "out there" and that is totally different than what u think it will be. Even if i dont like the piece , i still respect that they are not to be put in boxes and that they SO have their own style. Even this track , it has the Chemical Style. They make sounds in it that nobody else will make. Maybe this is a bit of a mainstream song , but def mainstream with the Chemical Magic Touch!
This song is DEF a grower. I am listening to it for the 4th time and yes , i am starting to like it. The bit where it goes all sparkly and than the DO IT AGAIn and beats come back in is fucking wicked!
I'm not saying this because i WANT to like the track , but i am really starting to dig it. See , the Chems have so much layers in their music , its hard to have "Love at first listen " in fact , the Chems are the ONLY artist i cannot say immidiatly if i like a song or not. Always from the firts tones i can say if i like it , but , the Chems , so much depth , so much deepgoingness , u can never tell.
Yes , the sparkly bit when the beat comes back in is FUCKING wicked. I'm not a big fan of the synthy bit - but this is gonna work SO well in a club. FUcking hell mates , picture it! This is gonna be dirty in a club!
At first listen i didnt dig it. But now i gave it a bit more listens and time.
Dont forget people , we are such big fans of the music , its hard to be objective. But i can understand why people dont dig it. At least i am starting to!
Tom and Ed Magic Electronic Wizards.
Big Hugs to the both of yah for always expanding youre musical horizons - and ours!
