re the hey boy girl thing... the riff is the right notes or whtever but u need to get some slidy portamento shit going on - thats what gves it its roll. so the first 2 notes are even lower and then it kind of slides up the the higher part.

Yeah I just made it up in 30 seconds, I didn't really try to make it sound like the original but I have to work on it now. Thanks for the advice :)

Another episodes of my tribulations with the Juno 106 in the "I'm a superstar DJ" part : what could be a beginning of an imitation of Chemical Beats (again, I obtained this sound randomly, I didn't have the intention to reproduce Chemical Beats :p)

He put on a turn-down collar, a black bow, and wore his Sunday tail-coat. As such, he looked spruce, and what his clothes would not do, his instinct for making the most of his good looks would.

You could try a parametric EQ with a really narrow Q, then just try to find the frequency and give it some cut (3-6 dB)

About the only way I can think of...

only you don't want to make that range seem flat so you want to bring the rest of it up somehow

Don't apply it across the whole mix, just on the vocal part before the mixdown. With a narrow Q, you'll get away with it as other parts in the mix will fill the gap in frequencies.

If it doesn't quite sound right in the mix, then you can use a tiny amount of enhancement using a 'harmonic exciter' at the right frequency - but you only wanna use a really small amount else the mix will sound brittle and artificial.

Do you have a decent sound card i could also hear clicks going on that 'tiiiii' sound sounds like it could be a ground loop or system noise?

idk what sound u mean.. if its the vocals its just bcoz the noise of the mic

if its the intro, thats only a very high pitched guitar.. thats maybe the reason of the distortion

talkin bout the 'noise-mic' im getting a program called reNOVAtor.. it promises it will work :-|

I'm re-listening to it. It's not perfect at all... Still it's... let's say "not that bad"

The song is called Bosconian Sunrise (NAMCO reference) and it's my first try at house music. Probably the last one too.

what are you saying man? only two transitions are somewhat sticking out, but the rest is beatmatched perfectly, esp if you're using decks. btw, what hardware do you use?
