not sure what your saying. why would there be any quality issues?? its an official promo, not cd accitate or anything dodgy. it will have the same quality as the official release. and whats to be ruined?? i dont wanna wait for the official release date, thats why i'm buying it!!! i'm sure i'll get the standard release in january too. and the forum faithful know i will post my views on here, i always do

The following listing:
4061242007 - New Chemical Brothers - Push The Button Album
was removed because the intellectual property rights owner notified eBay that the listing infringes its copyright, trade mark or other rights. Therefore we strongly urge you not to complete the transaction.

i thought about ditching my auction and go for the same seller as you. but im a man of his word so i stuck it out. looks like it might backfire in my face now!! still look at the positive the record companies are doing everything to protect the artist. if you got promos going to anywhere else than where they are intended then you got the problem of some muppet ripping them and putting them on the net. fingers crossed i will still be rewarded.
leterel i hope your dancing like a loon!!!
yeah but i think it's a little bit heavy that the record companies now have people workin' for them that just check out the internet for promotional copies of new albums sold illegal. don't think it is because of protecting the artists -though that is some nice side-effect- but to protect their financial interests :(

I agree with the use of the word "heavy." Of course the record companies are looking out for themselves especially in this regard, they're losing a *potential* sale that they never made money on in the first place - the artist makes no royalties from promos, neither does the label. But I'm sure you know (seeing as you're connected to the biz) that individuals selling promos for personal profit is illegal, just as it is for stores to sell them - though that's never stopped some stores.
It's a shakedown, I tell ya!!

and the problem to passing the promo out to people they trust is that, the record companies want new people, who havent heard the chems before, to listen to the album and be like Hey! i liked that! and talk about it.

It's a pretty stupid situation though, they could get over it by only giving promo copies to trusted people. Like, 1 each to the major radio stations, 1 to each major music mag, and a couple of selected DJs. Seriously, I don't see why more than 50 copies be pressed, and given to people they trust not to sell them. Famous DJs and journalists aren't too likely to sell their promo copies, I mean, can you see Pete Tong starting an eBay auction flogging his copy??
in fact, justin robertson gave me his copy of my mercury mouth test pressing (with original dust-up beats), hand-labelled by tom or ed. don't know why he didn't want that copy anymore, he never told me, but in fact, that was stupid of him, IMO. nevertheless, that was long after my mercury mouth's release and is not to compare with the current situation

What the hell?? you have the original Pressing of MMM? We've (the forum) been searching for this for a long time. Golden eye, you're really wierd about mensioning your collection. Out of the blue you just mension stuff you have. Why don't you record the orignal version of Dust up beats to hard disk and get it online to us? Do you have track times and pictures of this rareity? Just for some amusment. Do you have your entire collection transcribed some where? Also, How did you come into contact with Justin Roberston? No less have him give you a record?

i have most rare stuff which is because i know some people from virgin who supported me with promo copies or rare merchandise, thanks to them, but as well i have always tried to keep my eyes open for any of their stuff and partly payed huge amounts for some stuff.
can't give u info about justin and why he gave me that record that nite - i still can't believe, just know i've got it.
there are 2 versions of MMM available with the original track. the first one -a test pressing- is white-labelled and Tom or Ed wrote "THE DUST BROTHERS ----- SONG TO THE SIREN" with black edding on the front white label, the back says "JUIOR BOY'S OWN". as i said, test pressing (there is G-COPYMASTERS etched in the middle, as well as JBO-20, the later cat.-no.), just given out to DJs. that one was justin's copy. it is in a plain white case that says "justin robertson - play it loud with heavy needle", maybe tom or ed wrote it on there, i really don't know and never might find out. dust-up-beats on there is the withdrawn version which is to be found on the first release of the JBO-EP. think there were 10.000 that have been deleted and re-pressed with the new versions. there is NO difference between 1st and 2nd release!!! the labels say exactly the same and there is nothing different etched in there. it is just dust-up-beats that is different.
anType, hope that helps you. i will give you the original song length in a min...

just found out, that G-COPYMASTERS is etched on every single copy, as well as a little MA. don't know what that means. it is NOT on the test pressing!
original is 6:36 mins long and 2nd release dust-up-beats, if i am right, 6:21 only
