is this the same as the first remix from huntemann which got leaked before the actual song? i don't think that was a dub tho, and i really loved it. on the other hand i hate (absolutely totally) the audion mix.

I have it on a 'Remixes' promo CD - http://www.discogs.com/release/970151
It's absolutely the same as Remix, just much less vocals, that's all.

Audion mix is mnml 101... don't expect much and you wont be disappointed. Stock minimal sounds and production. Cant really say much about it, it doesn't do much for me but theres a market for it out there.
Huntemann's mix is quite lovely. Nice bass, nice use of the vocal stabs. I don't like the big synth stab in the original (I've edited it out, even for my home listening!!) so i was hoping Oliver wouldn't use it but he did. Other then that, typical of his style... lfo on the lead sound down through dotted 8ths and so on. Sounds great on a PA. Still on that German mnml trend but a good indication of how to remix such a huge act and yet do justice to your own signature sound. Worth a listen and works well in a DJ set (Rich Curtis dropped it at "A night with" in Brisbane... floor went nuts).

Whirly I said this before - the audion mix is SHIT. If this is minimal music, i think slipvin is god.
THe huntteman mix rocks. I still have it from the original rip we did off his myspace.

Interesting I'm not the only one not feeling the Audion re-rub.
As I said I cant really think of too many remixes of CB's that were any good. Theres a Ewan Pearson number my bandmate has dropped in his DJ sets from time to time but thats one of the rare few. Everyone from Fatboy Slim (Doing his usual "all i can do is shorten my samples" trick to Come With Us) to Felix the Housecat (over-compressed mush on Get Yourself High) has been disappointing. Oliver should be proud he has broken the trend!
I dont know how they pick their remixers but the quality has been attrocious. I loved The Score's bootleg remix of "Galvanise" (he's from breaks act Bitrok) and my mix of EBW9 is doing the DJ round in these parts so we're certainly open to similar criticism.
Anyone got any remixes they LOVE?
PS, i heard the "flip the switch" version of Believe dropped a few times. The official remixes are again, woeful. Sorry Erol...

Thanks Jack and segwist. Of course when the time is right I will hear the remix and let my ears be the judge, but I'm up for reading opinions/reviews beforehand!
@ segwist - my favorite remix of any Chems tune is Ewan Pearson's remix of The Golden Path. I love it, I like how the vocal part "you are forgiven" is brought out in the track and more pronounced than on the original song. The Chems also played that during a DJ set I went to in Los Angeles 2003, and it was one of the highlights of te gig for me. My husband and I were singing right along!
The Switch remix of Get Yourself High was another one I enjoyed, but not as much as Ewan's Golden Path remix.
As for the rest, I went into them with an open mind and either did not care for them or they didn't have the staying power for me. My opinion isn't meant to shoot anyone (of the remixers) down - I imagine when it comes to people doing the remixes for an official release, it's one hell of a tall order to fill.

Yeah like i said, the Ewan mix is one of the few we like. Its quite inspired too, from that bass progression to the acid arp and bell sounds. But anyway, not to sound too negative or anything :) My perspective comes from hearing more remixes in a month then i would care to in a year given what we do and what our colleagues do so some chin stroking is to be expected :P I would have loved to have heard Hybrid and King Unique do mixes though...
PS, i will ask you sometime what your sig is about! (Maybe now!)

I've liked a lot of remixes like I mentioned - no time to check and list now, but when I had heard the Sasha remix of Out Of Control I really liked it. I like the way he took the whole hardcore part that comes midway and changed it to totally his style of poppish dance music and executed it really well.
