We're all ok... my sons after school program is right down the street from where that happened tho', and I guess they were using the place as a base of operations for the evacuees.
Personally, I think it's fucking hilarious when a $3 million dollar house slides down a hill... there's no insurance that covers that type of thing.

Geology at work. The land in a lot of parts of Laguna are very unstable, and with the amount of rain we've had over the past few months, all that water just seeped underground and eventually all that silt gave way and took some houses with it. It was just a matter of time before something like this happened.
Laguna Beach has a history of landslides, floods and fires. It comes with the terrotiry I guess. I'll never forget when 'stash and I lived right downtown during some horrible floods, and half our street was under 2 and a half feet of water. Amazingly our ramshackle p.o.s we lived in didn't even leak!
But everytime there's a fire in the canyon my heart drops, because where we live can go up like a book of matches if the wind is blowing just right. It would be sad to lose everything despite having renter's insurance that doesn't cover jack shit.
