First, this section needs to be renamed properly!

Then, Tom has just posted a link about a DJ set in London!

https://www.facebook...37481759619657/

I am considering whether I should attend!

Do you think they are likely to play a bunch of new songs?

Actually really tempted to go to this if I can find somewhere to stay and can afford to get down.

The Chems' DJ Sets have always been a place for fans to go to hear new music in the works! It's almost guaranteed that they are going to play something that they have been working on.

I remember back in 2003 in NY hearing "Acid Children" (a.k.a. Electronic Battle Weapon 7) for the first time at a DJ Set. It was fantastic to be able to groove to the new music while it was unreleased... Rare treat. :D

Additionally, you also get to hear some fantastic tunes that you otherwise never would have heard!!! For example:

Love that track!!

Definitely go if you have the chance!

I'll do my best. It means enduring a 10-12 hour round trip on a bus but I'll see what my commitment's like.

Oooh, yeah--that's a commitment. I took a 4 hour bus ride to New York from Washingington, D.C. and had to take a 4 hour bus ride back at 4 a.m. Not fun. But absolutely worth it if you don't have any commitments.

Best of luck getting there!

Very tempted by this, although the last time I saw the lads DJ (Room 1 Fabric) it was insane. We had to leave after about 20 mins cos aggressive numpties in the crowd kept smacking my gf in the head. Not your usual clubbing crowd unfortunately.

I've never been to Fire though, so hopefully there will be more room/less numpties

well compared to a normal club night, it's extortionate
Bugged Out is normally about a tenner

Obviously this is different, but not sure i've £22 going spare :(

So what happened with this? They said outright on Twitter that they would be playing new music, I'd have thought you guys would be all over it.

that was HEAVY!!!!!!

Fire was a wicked club, proper old school turnmill vibes, excellent soundsystem and lots of all round good eggs in there. it was the same tunes through the club, so like turnmills you could give it sticks in the second room which had a bit more room in it, rather than getting squished.

it was a fairly intimate venue, would guess about 800 capacity.

tom n ed played a rippingly chunky set. they had a new edit/tune to kick off with, had a cut up vox going 'to the c, to the h, to the e, to the m, to the i to the c to the a to the l, b-r-o-t-h-e-r-s!' with a controversy style groove - it was awesome.

to be honest with you i was pretty battered so cant remember too many specific trax, m'chebne summed up the first hour as 'all squelch' - which it was!

highlights include; dont think, under the influence, rude arkade acid dub, renegade soundwave/dubtribe soundsystem mash up 'i want my planet back', boddika & joy o swims, SUPERFLASH (that is such a good track, the vocal sounds like a new york tranny, bloody brilliant) and they finished with swoon into star guitar which sounded amazing!!

they may well have played some new material in there, m'chebne is convinced he heard 'here come the drums' which is always possible. all i know is that they played stompingly sexy machine music firing off in all directions.

cheers tom n ed, that was awesome, fire is a wicked club and i hope you play there again!
