chemdup, are you freaking kidding me? are you trying to imply that its not really daft punk in the pyramid? do you honestly think that daft punk would have better things to do than mix tracks from a giant pyramid with 30,000 people screaming at them?

tell you what, why dont you make three groundbreaking electronica albums and sell out a world tour, then we'll talk.

Human After All wasn't 'groundbreaking', it was 'ear damaging'. You have to remember Alien, they're French so it's very likely they get people to stand in for them while they enjoy shit wine and stinky cheese.

LOL

I'd prefer a more simple tour like their earlier years. Not that I didn't like their recent tour, I'm just feeling a bit of nostalgia.

two problems, they were shit after their first album. end of story.

second, after originally agreeing to 7 world dates, they were offered 6 figure sums to play other dates, and they did fcking loads! for some of the dates it was not them in the suits. also much of the set is not "live"

but believe what you want.

Daft Punk's first album was great! I never much cared for them after that. I hate being one of those "oh man, that band was so much better back in the day!!" kind of people but when it comes to Daft Punk, it is what it is.

I don't hold a grudge either way. I didn't care much for Human After All but instead got the impression that the songs on that album were meant to be mixed into dj sets. It's not a bad thing, really. It's just not my cuppa.

That said, if Daft Punk were playing within a reasonable distance, I would drag myself and my husband Daft-Punk-hatin' ass out to see them. Even if it's not them in those robot suits, I'd like to bear witness to the spectacle. I think it would be fun.

What about the Chemical Brothers playing a DAT, and just dancing around ?

You have heard that it's really Tom and Ed dressed up as robots pretending to be Daft Punk, right?

I remember when both the Tom/Ed DAT thing and Daft Punk not being Daft Punk arguments were new.

@iguana

'so it's very likely they get people to stand in for them while they enjoy shit wine and stinky cheese.'

Thats's not the first time I heard that! I actually heard that kind of rumor around a year ago.
