no one kill me, but id rather D.A.N.C.E. wins best dance recording. I'd be equally happy with either WATN or "†" winning best electronica/dance album, because the Chems won this award with PTB, so it would be cool to win it twice in a row, but "†" is Justice's debut, and winning a grammy on your debut is always incredible. I love the Chemical Brothers, but Justice is also the shit.

for dance recording......

it'll probably go to the pop acts since it's typically a who had the most hype this year contest. Though I would be proud if chems or justice won it.

electronic.

If Tiesto or Shiny Toys win it......more proof it's a popularity contest, not about quality. man am I biased or what.

If Tom and Ed win anything. Good on them again. I still find it strange though how they won best rock insturmental back in 97 for BRB......Rock Insturmental....really useless categiry in terms of grammys

This is great news! They also won in 2006 for Galvanize and Push the Button, did they not?

I will find Tiesto and rip him apart if he wins.

Five thousand dollars says that Tiesto wins because the Grammy Awards are a piece of fucking shite.

Yes, CyberFlash, they did win for Galvanize and Push The Button.

I know these types of awards are a popularity contest in a lot of ways, some awards given to certain artists over time raised some eyebrows... but all the same there have been many occasions where the awards given were right on target.

The awards ceremonies with all the glitz, cheesed up performances and self fellating "I'd like to thank Jesus because I'm so successful" speeches kind of make a mockery of the recognition the Grammy Awards were meant to stand for. Grammies are old skool, but they've adapted over time by recognizing talent in new categories. And even though some may find it silly Block Rockin' Beats won for best Rock Instrumental - I personally think, given that it's not your typical dance fodder - it's kind of cool the Chems were given a nod to their ability to transcend genres early on in their career. Maybe Tom and Ed care, maybe they could care less. But hey... Even if they don't win, it's rad that people are listening and think the Chems worthy of recognition and praise. Nothing wrong with that imo.

I love when Believe won the best video. I recorded it, and I watch it over and over.

I'll never forgive myself for missing the '06 Grammy awards when the Chems won... I was going to watch it that Sunday night but I had a huge project for my AP Gov class (it sucks having to be a pretend lawyer when you don't make the money lawyers do. Had to do about the same amount of work for no money)...

Prediction:

Best Dance Recording - Justin Timberlake or Justice

Best Electronic Album - LCD Soundsystem

I wouldn't be surprised to see Justin Timberlake take home a Grammy this year.

I love Sound of Silver, it's kind of cool to see LCD Soundsystem get a nom but that's me being biased. :D

As for other categories, I bet Amy Winehouse makes a sweep. Not to be catty because I feel a bit sad for the poor girl's state, but I hope she's well enough to make an appearance.

I watched a fair portion of the Grammies in 2006. Not all of it (intermittently I went to fix dinner, change the sheets, fold some laundry, talk to my sis-in-law on the phone, etc) but I did see a fair amount. I finally switched channels when Kayne West came on and did his thing with the marching band which was errr, uhm yeah... To the best of my knowledge, the dance portion of the awards weren't televised. Or if they were, I missed it. There were other things going on and I knew the Chems won when I saw the ticker on the bottom of the screen.

yeah, the categories the chems were nomintated in 2006 weren't televised. However, since Mr. Timberlake is part of this category this year, I'm thinking they just might televise for rating sakes. Meaning JT will take home the gold.

and Pooter, I'll gladly take that bet.

Prediction for me: JT wins both

I didn't think the Dance category was televised. If it was in the past, ever, I missed it hard core. I think Bosco might be right, however. Timberlake is a popularity gold mine (at least here in the States).

Personally, I think Tom and Ed have a great fighting chance this year! Of course, that really might be hope talking over everything else logical. But, hey, what's the difference. =P

Hhmmm pretty heavy competition.

I predict Rihanna for the Best dance recording (I know some people ove here who like it;) Commercially the most interesting

Best Electronic/Dance album could be a close call between the Chemical Brothers and LCD Soundsystem with the latter going for a home victory. But Sound of Silver was a bit dissapointing to me, their debut album was better. So I would predict We are the night.

But I am very bad in predicting so Justice will take home both awards :)

I hope justice don't win - I think that album was a big disappointment especially after seeing them live. Also Tiesto has just been making / playing the same trance records for past 8 years. I used to love seeing him do his sets at crahser in 1999 & 2000 but come on it's 2007 now.
