brilliant idea, good cause. a new instrumental version of boxer with cool abstract visuals, something they could do live also. cool cool cool. :)

i like the part from 4:10 - end. they should make a proper song out of it. did i hear a bit of CWU in the last few seconds or does it only sound similar?

Kinda liked the freestylin' sound of the mix. I'll have to give it another listen when I'm not completely f*cking stressed out. :-/

Nice to finally get that killer live version of The Boxer! More proof IMO that they should start playing that one in their shows, Tim Burgess or not.

I agree with that but only for the collection, got the songs anyway... probably we are going to have such a release soon? they promised something great soon, it's pre-christmas time and finally... they have given the "new" version of boxer a "release". maybe it's a teaser?

Yeah, that last bit was cool. Surprised me a bit because the sound levels seem off - it gets significantly louder right around that mark.

You should give it another go. I just did through some decent headphones. It's got all the trademarks of what makes the Chems so engaging - the build leading up to the initial take off, a funky groove (that feels more prominent and showcased in this version than the album take), lots of neat sounding Chemical doodads. The 4.10 mark is special and totally unexpected. I really dig this. And the visuals are a cool accompaniment as well.

this mix is a thousand times better than the original ! I realise now that the thing that made me hate this track so much was the vocals. This pimped instrumental is awesome !
