Well it's a shame 'bout me n' Spain, but there's always New Year's Eve to look forward to. If they plan on a gig, that is. :)

I spent a very brief time in Madrid back in 1990, my first European city. If I hadn't been with my parents, it would've been a lot more incredible. X-D I found the people really lovely. I liked how everything came alive at night... sigh. I loved all the fountains in the city and how people would meet up with their groups there. The greatest thing for me about that short trip was going to the Prado museum. I could've spent a few more hours there at least.

Which site would people go for?

been looking at flights, found a return for �90 to madrid. I dont often fly but that seems quite good value for a weekend?

Barcelona is wicked - And that sounds like a cool festival! But unfortunately I'm going to Sonar festival in Barcelona the month before and I def won't have the money to go back! And that'll be my fifth time in 1 year, so I would like to spend my cash on another city for a change!



Seriously you could all get an apartment within a hostel, as long as you have a bed and a place to dump your stuff, who cares where you stay?



I went to Barcelona last month and I got return flights for �60 on easyjet and they were that price from all the london airports - It costs more than that to get to the north of england by train!



Mips, if your in Ibiza at the time, you can get the ferry over to barca from the port in Ibiza town.

Just went up looking 2 round trip tix from Los Angeles to Barcelona... can't say it hasn't got me a little down. $1300 *per person* just to fly.

But on the upside... if stash and I book now, we can get a round trip flight plus hotel package to London over New Year's for roughly $1600.

So, I NEARLY crapped my pants when I read the lineup... The Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim, and Massive Attack...



And I'm in the same situation as Whirly... ~$1300 from San Francisco to Madrid. Damn.



But you know what? I think I'm going anyway. You only need ONE of your kidneys, right?

I think that Daft Punk + Muse + Depeche Mode + Soulwax & Justice and maybe more (Massive Attack, please !!!) will be way enought this for this summer :)
