I've kept a bit quiet but I have to say I'm a bit bummed over a couple sexist replies in here. I know this has turned into a McCain bashing thread (with pictures to prove it, that's fair game) but that's not what I find troublesome. I know the things said about the women affiliated with the McCain campaign were written in jest... but as a woman, I find some of the comments here insulting TBH.

Uhm yeah... I should have said something earlier but didn't think the comments would escalate - as I see it, it's getting a bit out out of hand and it's just not right no matter whose daughter we're talking about. I don't need to point out what's already been spelled out in the posts already. I'm in the minority here (as a girl) but I shouldn't have to justify why I find some of the things in this thread insulting to women.

but, yes, sorry for that, whirly.
I blame it on all you euro fags, bringing the worst out of me.

@Whirls: I can understand why you're insulted. I'll go ahead and apologize as long as you can understand that if the roles were reversed and it were women talking about men like this, it wouldn't bother me in the least. I think that whatever patriarchal oppression still resides in our society can be separated from sexuality and discussion of spiting someone. ;-)
And speaking of candidates, why not vote for Obama? Consider the following as evidence of his AWESOMENESS!

Actually, although I am both male and aware of the jokey political context within which this is framed, I also found some of the stuff in here pretty offensive.
It's one thing to joke about "yeah, I'd do her", but I don't get along well with insinuations of non-consensual practice; performing a sexual act "upon" someone to spite them seems to me to be a form of misogynistic, sexual, violence.
It's pretty much like saying "I would like to hurt somebody, without their permission, purely for my own pleasure and especially because they are female".
Anyway, enough seriousness, but even before whirly had commented I had thought along exactly the same lines and I just wanted to remind everyone of the parting words that the Chems have had for every one of their shows since I have seen them in 2005. Love is all.

sorry if i offended anyone, i thought id just be a bit silly, take attention away from the fact a chems tune was used and focus on something else.
i'd hope with usage of phrase's 'rack' and 'splatter' it would be pretty clear i was joking, although it may seem misogynistic i guess if you didn't know me.
once again, sorry.

Just to clarify: I think things just got a bit out of hand and, as everyone here loves the chems I don't for one minute think any of it was seriously intended to be malicious, but it can still be offensive, even without the intent. Hey, as lde said: it's all about the music (and the love. and mips making us sick)

also, I think I'm gonna go to the Democratic rally on Nov. 4th. It's being held here in Chicago at Grant Park. Should be interesting.
