A former linemate of mine from summer hockey a few years back just signed a contract with the defending Stanley Cup Champions, Carolina Hurricanes.
Looks like he's finally made the bigtime at 20 years of age. Set to be one of the top players for Canada's Under 20 hockey team this winter, too.
Cools.

cool beans indeed!
If anyone has heard of Candace Parker (plays for the University of Tennessee and probably the most popular and sought out female basketball player in the country), I grew up with her from grade school to highschool. My Mom talks to her Mom every so often. And to tell you the truth from when I last played in a game with her... I didnt think she was that good. But I guess being "tall" can be a "talent" in it self

An interesting day on the transfer front to be sure.
We'll see if the Argies are still suiting up for West Ham in 365 days. Or if MSI perhaps takes over West Ham in the near future.
Getting Gallas in return should take out some of the sting, ACID. And Baptista in return for an unsettled Reyes isn't bad either. Maybe not Plan A, but not bad all things considered.

Sour grapes, my friend, sour grapes.
Deserved winners today, but history doesn't rewrite itself.
That being said, here's to hoping Italy somehow doesn't qualify for Euro 2008.
-------------
(And Crouchinho with another today? Love how the English press is getting worked up over it. I love Crouchie to death but talk of him breaking Charlton's record? And the "deadliest marksman in the world"? Don't make me laugh. He's a decent player and he's well on form, but anything more is ridiculous.)

hahaha yeh stop moaning ben, dont be bitter. theres always world cup 2010 to get even ;) they won, its not 'fake', they were better on the day - if it was down to who was 'the best' team at the WC i would have said the argies should have won it (as much as it sticks in my throat) but there you go.
re crouch - did u see him doing that scissor kick back to '66 goal last night? absolute genius, the lanky spider legs were flailing all over the place!
oh and on the bbc website was this gem on the timeline:
74mins: Coruch had better be carefull, he's all over the macedonian defender like a randy octopus.

THE PROBLEM WITH SPURS by mippio
ok so we won. we controlled 80% of the match, the passing was on occassions sharp and we played interesting progresive football.
however, the opposition were shocking and there were SOOOO many careless mistakes - if we were playing a side that wasnt the equivalent of southampton in pargue we would have been badly punished.
the strikers really need to get their sharpness together - we are creating lots of chances, so its not the sale of carrick thats undone us - we need robbie keane and mido to really start firing, because our midfield just doenst have a decent amount of firepower in it.
danny murphy and jemrmiane jenas re also woefulyl average, yet jol persists with them. murphy may have had one excellent season at liverpool 3 years ago buit has dipped loads since then and jenas- well he was good when he was 17, but hesjuyst never got better. ho hum.
still, we're through and now robbies got one hopefully more to come.

Too fucking right, my fantasy football team (Lokomotiv Metatarsal) are bottom of the league!

Croatia 2 England 0
mc marsh would like to ask: Are England players really up for it?
Didn't see the game tonight but I had the misfortune to watch us on Saturday, we were so average I almost wanted Macedonia to win! I would much rather watch my beloved local non-league team than so-called superstars stroll around for 90 minutes.
btw well done to Malta who won their first match for 13 years!
