Where Do I Begin. At first I thought I was picking it because of the beats and how the actual song gently unfolds and gets released towards the end but then imagining it without Beth's vocals I dont think it wouldnt be anywhere near as powerful. It adds that 'human' connection to it. The State We're In same deal but in a different way.

I love the position of the Where do I begin in between K-hole en the Reel. I love playing those 3 tracks in a row. But as a single track Alive Alone is my favourite.
Another Beth collab with Tom & Ed I like is Daybreaker. That would be my number 2

2. Alive Alone
3. The State We're In
I chose WDIB because it is really psychedelic 70's sounding with amazing beats. I used to dislike the end of the song because I thought those incredible noises were too harsh, but now they just amaze me—they sound so machine like, but that organic bass and beats balance it out.
Alive Alone is #2 because the lyrics are strong and the instruments really differentiate themselves from the other two (not much flange action, etc.)
The State We're has probably my second favorite lyrics, right behind Alive Alone, and I like the variation with the instruments. Really, this song is only in third because WDIB is just amazing sonicly, and Alive Alone is great all-around.

The end of Where Do I Begin always reminds me the day following the Chems at Coachella during the Come With Us tour. Stash and I were listening to Dig Your Own Hole on the drive home. I'll never forget how dead tired I was and how little sleep I got the night before after partying into the wee hours. We got stuck in a patch of traffic, and when the end of that song came on, about 4 groups of Harley Davidson motorcycles came up on both sides driving between the lines of traffic with their engines revved. The whole car was vibrating to the end of that song. The motorcycles went off into the distance, ahead of the traffic jam, as the song came to a close. Talk about synchronicity. We both kind of looked at each other and laughed because it seemed so... coincidentally absurd.
I used to think the end of Where Do I Begin sounded a bit harsh in contrast to the rest of the song, too. In a way those harsh noises remind me of engines revving, sort of like those motorcycles I saw on the drive home all those years ago. The noises are also a bit like getting the brain moving once the fog has lifted from the night before. But I love where and how Where Do I Begin is placed in context of Dig Your Own Hole. Once the motor is running the song trails off into the horizon to where the sun is rising on the closing track. It's just awesome.

Defintely a tough choice but I'm going for Where Do I Begin too. Wicked track and, as others have said, it bridges k-hole and the reel perfectly

Whatever. Poo on you, mate.
I'm not gonna sit here and debate whether 'The State We're In' is a excellent song. But I will say this. As a part of the full 'Come With Us' album experience, it is absolutely perfect. The timing of the track on the album, execution of texture and sound, and flow of Beth's voice, are a match made in heaven. I know this is a hard sell to some of you since 'Come With Us' wasn't the best of received albums. But, the way I see it is, every track on the album has a unspoken bond. Similar to the makeup of the new album 'Further', but different sound. I have a hard time just listing to a single track off either 'Further' or 'Come With Us', I always feel compelled to hear them all.

LOVE Asleep from Day. F*cking amazing. Especially after The Sunshine Underground. Perfection. Its like The Sunshine Underground takes you off gravity and shoots you into the sky and then when Asleep from Day comes its when you're just floating up there in orbit, the climatic aftermath of it all..
