Chemical Brothers and Prodigy

For what I've read, most of them (argentinians) are scared about the guys that are going to see The Prodigy, they don't like "bumping people" and "punkish people", what a pitty. :P
On the other side, some of them started complaining about the price of the ticket, I haven't said anything yet, but cmon, these tickets are cheaper than anywhere else!
Some of them are going to miss this to save money to see Paul Van Dyk.

I also love the Pro D G because they were the band that brought me the Chemical Brothers, the lords of the mixing desks ;-) . Without them i probably would have never ever got aware of them besides the charts or something. So thank you for that!
Ahm, i think what differs between these two bands is the way they feel music, what is showing up in their tunes, beats and structures. Listening to prodigy beats i often get the feeling they don't much vary, at least in comparison the chems, it's more straight-on-music. Whereas when listening to the brothers it often gives me a more profound feeling concerning the whole structure and shape of one track.
What i love about the chems is the choice of samples, drum kits, and as you all (i guess) these noisy bleeps and sounds which sourround their tracks usually.
One example for the straight on thing i mentioned is "Serial Thrilla". It's got such a nice beat but doesn't go further or deeper, although it has the potential to be more. Maybe 4 eyes see more than 2? Moreover the difference of their private histories flows in the productions i think. What bands and musicians they used to listen to when they were younger. Liam has some punk roots which is hearable in many tunes, what i really like.
These are so many influences! The ones how are making music know what i'm talking about. Paragons, favourites and stuff . . . you know?!
But difference is good, it keeps the world of music pulsating!

Want to go deeper?
What can you tell me about The Narcotic Suite (3 Kilos, Skylined, Claustrophobic Sting)?
3 Kilos, very nice song to chill.
Skylined, makes me travel, up to sky and back to earth.
Claustrophobic Sting, I think I don't even have to comment on this one, you just go mad.
The Prodigy doesn't have a "romantic" and "soft" side as the chems have, their songs are always focused on the "energy" and having "fun".
I'm saying all this with "" because that's how I feel the music, I'm not trying to define it.
Besides all this, The Prodigy is the best group and The Chamical Brothers suck arse! Shhhhh, don't say anything, I'm just trying to call the bros attention once again. : P

Serial is just a "rockish" song.

I love Narayan for it's mental trippiness.

For some reason I just dumped a whole bunch of Prodigy tunes in my playlist and when I read this I was listening to Narayan, the part with the chant. I think maybe the chems should do something with a chant, but then kinda vocoder it up into a beat and turn it into something totally different. Ok... now I"m just writing random thoughts... :?

hi all,ive been a lurker for a while but this topic got me.i went to the progidy site and you should see what they write abot chemical brothers their-they say the chems are commercial but what about charly or out of space these are so crap rave tunes you would never have tom and ed make such rubbish.compare chemical beats with charly and the question answers itself.prodigy is obvious, tacky chems go deeper and further. 8)
You are the one that sux. Charly and Out of Space are class rave tunes.
Here's the life line of both bands:
Chemical Brothers: Big Beat > House > Pop
Prodigy: Rave - Big beat > Electropunk
Chemical Brothers end up producing Britney's new album while Prodigy will be doing a collab album with the remaining Sex Pistols.

If prodigy fans are going to slag us off about our prefered music group.. then that just shows how childish they are and we shouldnt stoop to their level. :)
Altho, like i said, and i know alot of people on this forum share the same opinion. I like them both, but i like chems better :D

Fox , nobody is taking the piss outa the Prodge...and no prodigy fans are slagging us off ?! Were did that come from 8O If the prodigy fans say that the Chems are comemrcial , well thats their opinion. It's not an attack on us , the fans.
And i disagree with Sux , i think out off space is a classic rave tune. And what's up with the comparing with Out of Space and that Tom and Ed would never make such rubbish. First off all , Tom and Ed will never top the great songs that the prodge made , and likewise , as they are similair but also have their very own sound...so there's nothing to compare really if you think of it.
And Slipvin...i hope you just smoked a Big J , and thats why you came up with this conclusion :P

The only time it's happened here in this thread is by Slipvin, who's just smoked a big phatty and therefore secretly desires a Chems/Britney collab. ;)
He's right about the classic rave tracks - good memories, those are.
Of course this thread has deviated from its original intent which was to draw parallels between both bands. It's just too hard to stay completely on track and not start comparing when everyone's got an opinion, myself included.

Both groups come from England, I would say that 90% of the music I like comes from that place and that's just one of the reasons why I would kill to go up there.
Sometimes when I just get to know a new group, and I like it, I say "mmmm... I wonder where they're from, I'll find it out", and yes, England.
Not even knowing where they were from, almost all of them end up beign from England.
