so, I got laid off from my job of 11 years.... I'm mainly pissed because I got paid a fair bit of change to do very, very little, but I'm dealing with it very well indeed, since I got a fat severance package and much, much cash in my retirement plan... basicly, I got more, net, than I make in a year.

SO, *if* I can find a job in the next 6 months (no rush, Grand Theft Auto 4 comes out in 25 days, then I'm going to take a month off to sit home in my underwear, smoke dope and play it) I'll have the cash for us to go to Olympia.

I've needed a vacation, anyway. I haven't had more than a week off in 10 years, and that was when my son was born.

So, if I'm not here to mod and put the smack down on llamas and n00bs, it's because I'm not chained to my desk at work with nothing better to do. Police yourselves.

p.s. Ed, can you get me a job with your record label ;)

It's good to see you're taking it well, Stash.

Hope something better comes your way.

To the forumist formerly known as Stash:

You are a good man, and thorough.

Seriously though, how amazing would it be for the LA Skeezy crew to make the jaunt together to London for Olympia?!?!?!?!

I give you a thumbs up for taking huge life changes in stride, and it from what you've said it looks like it's not difficult considering finances aren't a worry anywhere in the near future.

::cheers man::

Yeah, it's not looking great.

But the good news is that this does, indeed, have to bottom out at some point. Then comes the ride back up. Capitalism is defined by periods of busts and booms; we'll just have to ride out this bust.

The saving grace is as you say you have time off to really get stuck into and enjoy grand theft auto. It's sad i know but i've booked a few days holiday off to get right amongst that bad boy.

Roll on April 29th

::encourages the Olympia trip::

And dude, come up to San Francisco again! I'll buy you booze and feed you drugs. In fact, can I just start gathering the necessary elements of an IV hookup where I can mix some whiskey and oxycontin?

Hey stash. Here's another one that feels sorry for your sacking. It's a shame. Hope you'll get another job as soon as possible.

But please, be careful and watch your internet and video games abuse. This can get bad in those times.

cheers

It's too late, Csar. Too, too late. stash's addiction to the cursed video games is well underway.

I wonder if the Betty Ford Clinic has a special wing for gaming addiction.
