eugh, top 100 of whatever (not my choice of word) they are always gonna cause a bit of controversy!! where did this list come from, i presum Q magazine??

first of all there is a tenacious link to the chemical brothers in there!!

87 Enya 'orinoco flow'

as taken from the now name miloco studio's web site Escribi:

Built in the mid eighties Orinoco quickly made it's mark as a top-of-the range studio with Enya's groundbreaking album "Watermark" (this included the Worldwide hit single Orinoco Flow - named after the Studio).[/i]

now like the tune or not, this tune has been part of the history of the band we all love, enough reason alone why it should not appear in the 100 top worst #1 singles!!

86 - David Bowie & Mick Jagger 'Dancing in the Streets'

a song that was knocked up quickly for live aid. two of the worlds greatest performers doing a charity record, for probably one of the greatest charity events ever. i will never forget watching live aid on telly, probably the most unique musical events ever. okay not a great single, but looking at it in context it does not deserve to be in the top 100 worst #1 singles of all time!!

i cant see any westlife, they are in the guiness book of records for cunts who have sold a shit load of crap #1 single!!

where are take that??? only one entry!!! are they not cunts too??? they deserve more abuse
I'm a fuckin doughnut

Some valid points made. ALL boy/girl bands should have made an appearance. For me, number 1 would be anything by Daphne & Celeste.

It's a VH1 list.

45 - Mr Oizo 'Flat Beat'

and why this?? kinda cool tune, that filthy dirty squelchy bass line!! what was that the advert for, levi jeans?? everyone was diggin the adverts!!

apart from the few tunes i have pointed out i totally agree with the list. although i did not need to be reminded of Glenn Medeiros, i can hear that in my head. and thats not funny

Rednex 'Cotton Eye Joe'

What really gets to me is ignorant people that put shit like Rednex in the same basket as the Chems. *shudders*

Oh yes, there are plenty of horrible songs on that list. I admit I do have a soft spot for 99 Red Ballons though. But yes, those songs that comprise that list are the kind that get stuck in your head all day until you're ready to drive an ice pic through your ears.

And about Live Aid. I remember getting up at 4am to watch Live Aid being broadcast from Wembley. It was such an incredible day for music, just watching that event made me feel like music really could change the world. Queen came out of the woodwork and performed for the first time in years, the Boomtown Rats played "I Don't Like Mondays" and of course, seeing U2... I heard Live Aid is going to finally be released officially on dvd sometime later this year or early next year.
be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle

I always catch myself singing 99 red balloons.

Flat Beat is a good song, I think the reason they put it in there was because of over playage. Mr Oizo's album Analogue Worms is pretty good.

Rednex Cotton Eye Joe was knocked off the number 1 spot by Celine Dion's think twice which was number 1 for 7 weeks.

Kinda makes you like the Rednex track.

Chocolate Salty balls was a funny song, it also replaced Spice Girls' Goodbye at number 1 X-D.

I still like Baz Lurhmann's Sunscreen :-//.

no 89: Whey-oh!!!! :D
