Here's the trailer for the new Michel Gondry movie :

It looks amazing ! Pure Gondry like in the old days when he was doing music videos. And it's also his first 100% french movie.

I didn't understand a word in the trailer, but I'm definitely going to watch this, even if it is French with subtitles.
Gondry makes wonderful movies, "Eternal Sunshine of the Spottless Mind" and "Science of Sleep" are among my all-time favourites!

Currently watching Ed Banger 10th anniversary celebrations live on there you tube channel. Its insane. you can view different camera angles around the party and pretend you're triggering live samples with the DJs. Justice are in fine form with the music they're playing too which is great.
Come out from the cold and into the setting sun. It's where it all began for me (not in Afrika), like it was out of control. Then after that life was sweet. So dream on into the pioneer skies of the fourteenth century and rise from the sunshine underground.

I just haven't seen it yet. From what I've heard about this movie, I'm pretty sure I will like it, too.

Evening all. Haven't posted anything for a while.

Saw Sigur Ros live (again) last night in Glasgow, and a great 2 hr show. Some excellent visuals (not of Chems standard, but very fitting with the music) - one was reminiscent of Saturate, with blue and yellow graphics. They're also premiering some new tracks from an album to be released later this year - bit of a change in direction, with a heavier more driven sound. They sounds very effective live.

And in a week of gigs... seeing them again in Brixton on Thursday, and then My Bloody Valentine on Saturday in the famous Barrowlands... You don't see any for a while, then 3 turn up all at once!

Nice--seeing Sigur Ros in March. I've seen them once before and loved the experience.

In other news, been listening to Simian Mobile Disco's live album pretty much nonstop since Monday...

I haven't seen Eternal Sunshine but I've been wanting to for months now! The only thing holding me back is - is it best seen for the first time alone, or with someone else? I'm the kind of guy who studies movies and gets caught up in them all on my own, but I know it's a bit of a romantic movie, so if it's better to first experience it with a significant other I'd like to save it for a date night or something.

New one looks really promising. I'm taking French, but I'm really merde at it, it'll be a subtitle adventure in any case.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is brilliant, but I wouldn't exactly call it a date movie. It's like Fight Club. Sure, you could watch it with a date, and with the right date you could even relate and converse after the film. But, like Fight Club, the funny moments break up the tension of a much deeper story.
Gonna work it out...

Anyway its all different this year because we are taking the kids.

i really don't know most of the names on that line-up. but a few artists that I recommend to should check out: Portishead, Simian Mobile Disco and Leftfield.

side note: how can the best music label of britain, Ninja Tune, be completely absent? (sidenote: after freestyle dust of course!) no Amon Tobin, Mr. Scruff, DJ Food, Coldcut, Bonobo, DJ Shadow, etc.

This appears to be the year of non-electronic music acts, at least for Coachella and Glastonbury. I don't see a lot of the familiar names I associate with electronic music up on the lineups for either.

i dont think its anywhere near the full line up btw, think theres a couple of bands missing from pyramid and the dance area is supposed ot be bigger than ever so i reckon there will be some ninja tune representation and other stuff. Thursday night is usually quite electronified and you dont find any of that out till wednesday morning!!
