I'm setting up a very vaige topic. Its to post about what other kinds of music you listen to, have in your collection, want to get, or names of bands and songs you like that seem taboo to post about on this board. Some of the other bands I like are, Stone Temple Pilots, Jains addiction/Porno for pyros, Blind melon, Beck, Foo fighters, I mother earth, Sponge, Cracker, Folk implosion, Helmet, Girls against boys, Corrosion of conformity, Pearl jam, Sound garden, Faith no more, Nirvana, Garbage, Everclear and basically a lot of stuff from the 90's. I also like listening to other music from the 60's and 70's like, Strange brew and white room by : Cream, Incense & peppermints by : Strawberry alarm clock and Frankenstein by : The edgar winter group.

I like a lot of different artists and styles of music, including seveal genres within "electronic", alt rock, classic rock, 80's new wave, 90's grunge and darkwave/EBM. Picking a list of favorite artists doesn't seem to do justice to particular songs or genres that I enjoy, so I'll take the scientific approach.

Here are my top 10 atrtists as gauged by the space they take up on my hard drive. Be warned, it's not a sexy list:

The Chemical Brothers

Howard Jones

New Order

Depeche Mode

The Crystal Method

Pink Floyd

Adam Freeland/Freeland/Marine Parade mixes

NIN

Beastie Boys

Sublime

I also have a lot of space dedicated to mixes by Armin Van Buuren, Sasha and Digweed, Oakenfold, Deadmau5, Dubfire and various essential mixes. I guess "DJs" could alternatively be on my list.

Groove Armada

Craig Armstrong

Daft Punk

Talking Heads

New Order

Moby

Massive Attack

Simon & Garfunkel

Godspeed You Black Emperor

A few that I've picked up recently, and would recommend - lo-fi kind of stuff - The Low Anthem, The Leisure Society, One Eskimo

I'm going to put my top 10 favorite artists of whom I'm currently listening; I don't want this to end up an overly long list like on my facebook.

The Smiths

Simian Mobile Disco

The Bird and the Bee

The Bloody Beetroots

Flying Lotus

Amon Tobin [and his collaboration, Two Fingers]

Freeland

Myagi

The Knife [and Fever Ray, a solo project]

Apparat [his collaboration with Ellen Alien and Modeselector specifically]

I guess I should mention Massive Attack, Chase and Status, Birdy Nam Nam, IAMX,Benny Benassi, M83, Oasis, David Bowie, Boize Noize & Errol... Dammit, it is happening anyways. Lol, well that should cover everyone I've really enjoyed lately.

How did I forget mention Porthishead? They're always my favorites.

@Jittem: Was it you that shared Myagi with us in a fairly recent topic? If so, thank you so much! He is so, I cannot believe I had previously never heard of this!

Shame on you for not adding Portishead Profunk. ;)

HA!

I just remembered something funny. A while back when I was watching the 'Roseland' DVD. I spotted a guy in the crowd wearing a 'Chems' T-shirt. After close examination, I found out it was Errol (The Futurist) sporting a big fro! Weird but funny find!
