I made a song on my computer and i want to know what you all think of it. But remember, i'm only 13 with extremely close to no materials at all. so don't expect a masterpiece. but i do want everyone's thoughts on my work.

in case you don't know how to do this...

the link will bring you to a page with a chart. at the bottom of the chart click "free". that will bring you to a new page with a code, and a place to type underneath it. type the code and click "download"

Ok thanks. I feel old now. I'm 32. Jeez.

TJ, I liked a lot of the sounds! I would say as the only suggestion, a little more modification of the levels. ie. balance out which instruments you wanna hear distinctly, and which are going to just edge in, in the backround...

Sounds great tho!

*laugh*

Well, my kids are still in single digits, so I suppose that's good too.

The only Chems releated mixes I ever did were these:

The Maiden Flight really was just practice in how to use Acid Loops or whatever. I had never used it before. The "Never Was Live" mix I thought really came out great...

Points to anyone who can tell me which ending clip (what live performance? it's a pretty well covered bootleg concert) I used for the come down at the end of the song.

I enjoyed it as well, and the only criticism I can give it right off is what evermin mentioned, which is working with the levels.

Everything does sound pretty much even, which can be a good thing, but it's not as defined as it needs to be. Having a distinction on what you want us to listen to more would be good. Otherwise, the full-levels are great at times.

I like how you keep building up the layers at the end, too. :)

@evermin - I don't recognize the set you used, but I do really dig the energy you created with the track. Or, I should say that you built from the Chems' sounds. ;-)

It got me movin'.

But ah, yes, the end "Tom goes off with the synthesizer a la Jimi Hendrix." I loved it from the first moment I heard it back in 2002 in San Francisco. I couldn't believe it--it was awesome. I looked over at some other people putting their hands over their ears, and they asked, "What is that noise?" I looked at them as if they were the ones on drugs...

Yeah I agree, I've had a problem with that actaully. I'm usually a little imbalanced with the level settings. My favorite part about making music though, is taking a software instrument, and completely screwing it up (in a good way), to the point where i play the sound of the original instrument to my friend, and then play him my version of it, he skeptically says,"How the hell do you do that!"
