I've been listening to this album recently and some of it is pretty good. Favourite track is The Telephone call. Anyone else heard the album? What do you think? 8O

I like it.

But the old stuff is better.

Because then you hear that they were first with that sound.

New album is the same as the old stuf but with a modern sauce.

I've been listening to all my Kraftwerk albums recently, now listening to Computer World.

Electric Cafe isn't the same as the albums before it. Sex object has to be the worst Kraftwerk track ever made.

For a bloke who doesn't know what they're about, could you recommend a couple of tracks.

Easiest would be to check out their "The Mix" album for it plays all the well known tracks like 'The Robots', 'Autobahn', 'Trans Europe Express' and 'Radioactivity'.

I was kinda disapointed in electric cafe. Im not a big fan of the lyrics and the vocals. I always listened to the music more then the vocals. Its a good CD, but loses its touch somewere in the middle.

I still need to hear Tour De France 2003. Anyone listened to the album yet?

re: Tour De France 2003

I like it a lot. It captures the old Kraftwerk style a lot without sounding dated.

Yeah, I thought that was quality, if a little repetitive. It didn't really go anywhere.

I heard Autobahn for the 1st time yesterday on top of the pops 2, I didn't get it, it seemed a bit like IDM but done 30 years ago. That said, it was TOTP2

The cd version is much better (and about 19 minutes longer....).

To me Aero-dynamik is typical Kraftwerk, it always amazes how they keep simple tunes going for ages without it becoming boring (unless you're listening to Electric cafe) - the full version of Aero-dynamik is around 7/8 minutes :).

I think I really like Kraftwerk. (maybe why I like "Scale"... :P) I've got this one mp3 called ""Kraftwerk - Mega Mix" and that's really cool. It's got Computer Liebe and I'm not really sure what else; I don't know the names of many of their tracks. Does anybody have that and/or know what's in it? The length is 13:15. I think their website is groovy. How about you? :)
