The legendary DJ John Peel has died. I am so gutted and upset by this news that i had to say a few words on behalf of the longest surving DJ on Radio 1.
His love of all music, witt and charm will be remebred forever and the man himself will never be forgotten.
My best wishes go out to his wife and children who must be devestated at this time.
Thankyou
James

My life is a boat, being blown by you. With nothing ahead, just the deepest blue... To me you're like a setting sun. You rise then you're gone.

I remember looking forward going to bed because I would be greeted by Johns unique show and personality. He was a funny man and well respected.
I remember listening to his show this week while he was on holiday, thinking I can't wait till he gets back because it's currently shit. Now I know this isn't going to happen. :x

gutted, today is truely the day them music died.
who knows where the music scene would be without peel. his massive influence on uk radio and on music diversity is unmeasurable. a man who had such open ears to a broad range of music is an inspiration for us all. the music world is a darker place place without him.
rest in peace john.

"The late John Peel is to be remembered at next year?s Glastonbury Festival with a stage re-named in his honour.
Peel had presented television coverage of the festival in recent years and formed a close friendship with its founder, Michael Eavis.
Eavis has stated that in future the New Bands Tent will now be known as the John Peel Stage."
