So how is everyone doing? Got a few hours sleep and I'm as bright as anything.. sorry I didn't get to say hi to any of you guys, I asked random people at the front if they were from the forum but no luck. I was the lanky asian with the green t-shirt with weird bird thing on a white background on the back, I got on the podium about half 4 and didnt get off til the end, anyone spot me? That was one of the best goddamn nights of my life.. incredible. Justin absolutely destroyed the place. Someone must be up! X

Just got in from battling our way back up to Hull on shitty trains, still not had any sleep yet so my review will be brief. Here goes= ULTRA FOOKIN MEGA!!!! Never stopped dancing from 11 till 630 Don't think I heard one bad tune all night. Man of the match for me has to go hands down to Mr Robertson amazing set and by far the best mixing. Found Fatboy's mixing to be off a lot of the time, though thats not say it still wasn't awesome. Loving the the fact Justin played Do it again, Star guitar and Hey Boy Hey Girl(all be it a different harder tehcno version- can anyone shed any light on this! It sounded massieve!)

Ah Fatboy poor fella, sometimes I think his mixing is part of his act. Still amazing though.. I like to.. MOVE IT! Will definitely see him at Wireless. And yeah those techno remixes that Justin played were off the hook, especially Hey Boy Hey Girl.. does anyone have any idea what the hell they are? White labels maybe, or special productions for the night?

The remix that Justin played is probably the Tim Davison mix (he's been playing it quite a bit lately). I have it on a mix somewhere, let me know if you want it, and I'll dig it up.
Great night all round, didn't see too much of Chems/Fatboy as it was a bit too busy for me in there, but what I did see was incredbile (everyone in the club going nuts is quite a sight!)
Getting ready to do it all again tonight.

Anil you star. Felt mighty sorry for you having to do the closing set this morning and the opening tonight.. especially right after Justin's set, I was all ready to have a water break but Cowgirl just didn't let me move. And Plastic Dreams into Black Legend.. oh my god. How a room full of people can suddenly find that much energy out of nowhere at 7 in the morning or so I have no idea. After that I decided to stay til the end. Must have been magical for you.

I was liking your set Anil, shame the bastards turned on the lights, plus I couldn't enjoy it as much as I would have cos I was FOOKED!
Danced all night, if you can call it dancing haha. It's more moving on your feet so you don't fall asleep.
For me the highlight was Fatboy's set, he was playing tunes that I've always wanted to hear in a club but never have cos I live in a shit city :P
The Chems set was great! I don't think I enjoyed their NY Turnmills set last time cos I was to wasted. Amazing to hear EBW8 :o
Everyone was great, and there were a lot of people who showed up, let's see if I can remember: McMarsh (good idea walking to McDonalds in the morning! I better finish my muffin haha). Jeanie: cool 'model' hair cut, didn't see you dance much. Joslyn: aardig jasje. Mippio: Nice to finally meet the man, but that smoking habit has got to go, it's sooo 2007. Irish: The first person to mention the chems, as predicted: obsessed :P . Foxy: Sorry to hear you didn't get in at first but it all worked out in the end :). Chemfan: As always, respeck! Acid: You been working out? Tyler: hahah you make me laugh, you're always so fucked. Who have I missed? To many of you!

Does anyone know what the Chems were playing during that massive build up just before Tomorrow Never Knows? And the mad acid tune they played when the lasers went crazy about half an hour before the end of their set? And by the way Anil would really appreciate if you could dig up that Tim Davidson mix.. hope your set went well tonight

Hey the whole thing feels a bit strange now given its Monday already! Yeah it was a great night, was awesome seeing everybody again, plus the new faces for me Joslyn and Foxboy (also Jim (?) and Iggy's mate - sorry mate can't remember your name, I'm sure it will come to me!). Was really sad Foxboy couldn't get in with the rest of us but at least you got in eventually!!
Chems set very very good, just a shame I was in the main room, it was fucking rammed!! There was me inching my way to the front thinking everyone would be there but turns out they were in the back room! Enjoyed the music much more once in there but Tom and Ed had finished by then.
Fatboy's was also a decent set, some great acapellas (highlight probably being X-press 2's Lazy mixed with the Lobotomie-esque acid track). Some of it a little repetitive imo but 2 thirds of it awesome.
What turned out to be Justin Robertson was awesome in the first hour or so (don't remember much after then), especially when he dropped Azzido da Bass' Dooms Night! Was it him who played Put Your Hands Up for Detroit?- I was not impressed lol.
Anil Chawla also very good although any DJ who plays Higher State has me impressed by that alone! It was also nice to hear the old 80s track used by Candi Staton in You've got the Love (is it Frankie Knuckles?). Good stuff although I was well knackered by then haha.

Of course it's Frankie Knuckles! Oh so many tears. My mates name is Lewis, or Evil_Nemesis_45 hahahaha. Nah It can't have been Robertson who played Detroit,no way.
haha darkie, I still love my watch but when you relying on exact time keeping when catching trains it's pretty useless in the daylight, it's more of a night time watch because the interface is a mirror.
Oh and Irish, I can't believe I'd never heard that New Order song before! :o I'm ashamed. I only have Substance on CD.

Yeah I had the Frankie Knuckles track on my PC a while ago wasn't 100% sure it was him!
Remember when we were sat in McDonalds with those three ladies and one of them asked "So how do you know each other with you two being from Peterborough and you from Leeds?"
*silence* lol

Great night , good to see all of you again.
Chems set was the best i've ever hear them do. I dont think i've ever heard such an amazing selection of tunes ever. The club was going off like fireworks on nye.
I have to say i was not impressed with Fatboy Slim. Not my kind of tunes. FC Kahuna however, totally made up for that.
Unfortunatly i was VERY tired and therefor i could not go ape like i usually do. I still enjoyed my night but i was ready to go to bed at like 3 am. I went to bed at 9 eventually. And had lots of energy when i woke up. Staying sober is great the next day.
Lovely to see you all again, sorry i didn't have my rave shoes on, i didn't really live up to my reputation hehe.
Love to Tom and Ed for the best set ever.
xx

well well, what a cracking way to say goodbye to turnmills.
really cool to see everyone again, iggy nice to meet u properly and all that jazz.
wicked set from the chems, loads of stone cold classics - that acid track 365 was emmanuel - top labomtomie followed by tomorrow never knows - fvckin wicked!!
it was a proper old skool set, opened with leave home into no need (the old and the new combined) they dropped the carlos berrios/metro LA mix, im losing control/i want my planet back, satutare sounded awesome, the milo/impulsion cut up, and then finishing with the sgt peppers/hbhg noise cut up and then finally out of control.
tom n ed - thank you for so many glorious nights at turnmills.
fatboy - well, we left after half an hour, but fc kahuna were really cool.
had a bit of a rough time of it recently, so a smashing rave up was exactly what i needed. :D

Yeah was Brilliant.
Chems set was very good, as I said to Ed it was cool the way the set had lots of up and downs, building the crowd up then takeing it down, then up again. loads of classics played. FBS was also enjoyable. Justin was quality, the Tim Davidson remix of HBHG was good, as was dopplewhipper and dare I have detroit also felt good at that time. Anils set was also another highlight.
A real shame to say goodbye to a club of such history. Thanx Gurnmills
