Recieved my copy of 'EBW5' in the post yesterday morning, shipped over from the US (always expensive with it being vinyl!), listened to it today and its not the real thing!!
There was me, in crazed collector mode, surfing the chemical pages on ebay when I saw CHEMICAL BROTHERS - ELECTRONIC BATTLE WEAPON 5. The pic showed the familiar 'hand-drawn' mixerboard with the lettering and everything. This being the last EBW I need, I went straight onto the page, saw the 'Buy it now' option and paid for it through PayPal. Without reading the page properly as I wanted to get in there before anyone else!!
*waits for cries of 'DUMBASS!!'*
So, I put it on the turntable and this pounding trance beat starts playing and then a fake It began in Afrika voice sounds, followed by the obligatory high pitched synth sounds you always get with brainless trance music. I thought "this doesn't sound like the chems", so I skipped to about halfway across the 12" and it was still the same kinda thing.
Its easy to say I've been ripped-off but of course on the item page it says 'Excellent hard tribal trance remix of 'It began in Afrika''. So, its a case of me being a complete idiot and not reading the page properly.
I can't ask for a refund cos the seller is not really at fault here, so I'm giving it away. If anybody on here (for any reason) would like to own my 'copy' of 'EBW5', then pm me and I'll send it out to you - probably for free. I really don't want it anymore and would be grateful for someone to take it off my hands. Not holding my breath though...

that crappy dutch bootleg, thousands of copies around. in fact, it even ain't a bootleg, just an awful remix not worth the vinyl it's been pressed on.
i got my original copy of EBW5 at vinylexchange and that is the only place i trust for getting the originals. watch out there!

I would love to have some stuff of mine pressed onto vinyl. It would be so cool.
ain't there a mastering and pressing studio around yours? you night have finished your productions already and even mastered so just go there with dat or whatever they need and have 500 copies pressed. is about 1.000 bucks or so with white label and sleeves
love is all.
