Hi, well, I was just wondering if anyones ever worked at McDonalds before. I just started working there, and its probably the worst job for the money period. Like to hear someone elses opinion and then maybe have this off topic topic get off topic and become fun.

Yes, Mcdonalds is the worst job you can have. Unless you think that 6$/hour for being burnt by incredibly hot pieces of metal and to stink like absolute shit after each shift is worth it, quit. How are you liking the thin layer of i-dont-know-what that covers your entire body after you get home from working at McDonalds? Get out of their as fast as you can...

I was watching a program about the worst jobs in history, and it didn't mention McDonalds. It did mention however; making violin string in the olden times.

They would hang up a sheep by its neck and then cut open it's torso and stomach with a knife, spilling the organs into a bucket below. The part that gets caught it the rectum so you have to pull it hard and be careful you don't get covered in excrement.

They then try to seperate the small intestine, being very careful as if he rips the wrong part he will be covered in shit.

Once removed, you pour water though the shit covered pipe and there you have the begginings of your string.

Would you like fries with that?...

fast food everywhere is the same. Their focus is speed with service. They always want you to be doing something unless you have a cool boss like me (then you basically smoke pot all day and make tacos while listening to Phish). It s a very different enviorment then other jobs because you are constantaly being watched by other employees or the customers. also i get to see people very different from me. just keep your head strong and suck in the experience.

PS - don't keep this job for a long time though. It's only worth working for 6 months .

Only worked in food service for a brief period while I was still in high school. It was at an old folks' assisted living facility, the kind with the communal dining room where the old folks go and get their meals. I don't mind old folk, I dig them actually because they have great stories and lots of wisdom. But dealing with hungry old people who were in the beginning throes of alztheimers disease (they'd forget what they ordered, then argue with you) could be, without trying to sound too heartless, aggravating. But also being around the ageing took a lot out of me emotionally...

At least the food was fresh for the most part and I wasn't covered with a thin layer of of whatever it is McDonald's employees have to deal with when they come home from work.

Still though, props to those working in food service. It can be frustrating work dealing with hungry people. And McDonald's, jesus criminy, dealing with all the screaming kids cryin over their happy meals. I couldn't do it!! But I gained a lot of respect for food servers, cooks and busboys just by being immersed in that restaurant type environment if only for a short time.

Hahaha, that's the story of my life. Well also that little school thing is there too somewhere.

Interesting fact: the average employment at McDonalds is between 2-6 weeks, I bet you now know why. You should try finding a mom & pop place to work for, they usually aren't so bad with pay, plus they'll hire people without much experience if it is your first or second job.

I worked for Burger King for 4 years while I was at uni, it is a sucky job. People tended to either last 3 weeks, or if they survived that, they'd be there for ages (months & years). Once you've been there a little bit (say 6 weeks), it's more like hanging out with your mates than work, it makes it a lot easier. Don't get me wrong, it's still a crap job, but if they paid me 30k a year for doing it I would, it was a fun place to work sometimes, having a laugh with your mates and that.

What can I say, all jobs where you have to work with the public are pretty dire, at least you can have a laugh and that just to take the edge off it.

every six months or so I get this unexplainable craving for mcdonalds cheeseburgers, then I go and eat some, then I shoot runny shit outta my ass for 4 hours straight, and I swear I'll never eat there again.

We Have a place around here (and I know So Cal has them too, whirly) called In-N-Out Burger, that's the only fast food I'll eat. It's real stuff, the place isn't corporate but the owners have made a lot of them, if you can find them, go there, plus they pay like $9, since they're not all about numbers. And no food poison yet!

Yeah, In-And-Out tends to be a better alternative around here to Mickey D's or Burger King. I don't eat burgers, and there's no veggie burger options but they have good fries that taste fresh (not that I eat that many fries these days.)

I prefer Del Taco over them all because there's things on the menu that I can eat for pretty cheap. Other than that, I pretty much avoid fast food.

In-N-Out is second only to Fatburger in my opinion... I love cheeseburgers, I think they're the greatest thing america's ever done.

I worked at McD's. When I tell people about it, I say, "Every middle-class highschooler in the midwest works fastfood at least two weeks out of their life, and when I say two weeks, I'm not kidding." I was there three-four months before I quit. That was a LONG time ago, and I've eaten McD's twice in the past four years. Both times the service was shitty, and I know why.

I moved to Washington, D.C., and put McD's on my resume once before I actually built up a real resume. I was applying for a job at a Barnes & Noble. The lady interviewing me literally chortled when she read it, then composed herself.

I have come to the conclusion now that macca's (you will find that no australian will ever just say Mc Donalds) is only eaten when I'm really drunk...thats because 1. I'm to pissed to care what goes into my body, and 2. theres nothing else open that late at night. But I always hate getting the meal deals when your pissed...they give you that damn coke that you just end up throwing out anyway 'cos theres no alcohol in it.

And I've never worked in a fast food joint. All my friends did and I couldn't handle the smell they had after they had finished a shift. all fatty and gross.
its a little early but thanks anyway
