Chemical Brothers vs Prodigy

It's a Chemical Brothers VS Prodigy thread... To me, comparing Chemical Brothers to Prodigy is like comparing... oh, Ruth's Chris Steak House to McDonalds... it's like, sure, they're both restaurants but... Or comparing Being John Malkovich to Anchorman... sure, they're both 'comedies', but...
I guess the difference, and the ludicrosity of a thread comparing the two comes down to this: the Chems are artists, Prodigy makes a product (don't forget, after 7 years or however long it took, they decided their Product wasn't market worthy, threw it out, called in the Media Consultants and redid the entire thing)
IMHO, of course

I'm sorry, I'm just sleepy... that, and I reacted with something akin to 'violently ill' when I heard prodigy's last CD... I'll admit, I didn't even hear the whole thing, I listened to about the first 45 seconds of the first 5 or 6 songs, then I think I threw the CD (a promo from my wifes work) out of the car window... she may have saved it, I don't recall.
I used to dig them, seriously, I slapped my share of bitchs up and started my enough fires back in the mid-ninties, but my most enduring memory of them (and this isn't meant to sound 'older skool than thou') was them playing in late 1992 at a local venue called the Coach House, that was usually occupied by Doors cover acts and local folk bands, to a massive crowd of about 25 people.

was at the amsterdam gig last night.. though it was a great gig with excellent light/video show, i also noticed how, very unlike at prodigy gigs, no one jumped!! the place was jam-packed, but no one bothered to move slightly more than they do in a dicso..
then i realized that this is all because of the fact that the chem bros dont rock!! their set was diverse, with both old and new tracks... but they all have the same dubby techno beat.. and dispite the fact that they were constantly building up excitement in the bridges, it kept returning to this disco-beat which doesnt really seems to be getting people from the ground.. aslo there's no real contact with the crowd (not that a mc would be a good idea, but it just feels like something is missing..
prodigy have always rocked live and this has been recognised by many: chem bros live just cant reach tracks like breathe, rhythm of life, their law, smbu, gabba...etc...etc.. if you cant feel these tracks than you dont understand prodigy, just like i dont understand the "deep" side of the chems... (which tracks are meant by this?)
also to say that prodigy are a one-hit dance act is a shit argument and you know it... and it seems meaningless to me to be comparing what remixes they have done for other artists, this could also mean who has less inspiration.. but if you want one -> release yo delf rmx

After watching Super Size Me, I went straight to a fast food outlet for a lunch. Not McDonald's, but hamburgers anyhow. It was supposed to be a really funny joke. :)
