Nope, dude, nope. Think of Diamond Sky, think of Freak of the Week and not to mention Base 6 (2002?)!!!!! And The Boxer has a typical breakbeat line.

apart from "the boxer", all those tracks are b-sides.... I think that goes to show you that they are kinda steping away from a genre that started them, and a genre that they perfected, at one time...

Csar Escribi:

And another thing. It would be a shame if an artist is only doing what the crowd wants him to do. So if they could accomplish things better, they should do so!!!

I cant say I dont agree with you on that. But in their deffense, alot of these artists are still young, and the only way they can make money doing music, is pleasing the crowd. Some of them will take the higher ground and wait till the tide turns again ( for example are own forum DJ, Dan Van Damn.) But you cant blame the artists that wanna start early (please the crowd) and make some money, cause in the long run, it truly is, a business. I wish it could always be for fun, but it isnt.

This old man,
he play beats,
He don't need no music sheets,
but with a snip-snip-snippy-snip
gave his mop a chop,
Old man hairstyles are a flop.

There's too much emphasis on vocals in alot of dance music these days for my liking. Fucking way too much for my liking atually, that's my two cents right there. :)

Well, at least i'm sure they don't follow any specific genre. They just do what they like to. And when you listen carefully there has been many influences of breakbeat in their tunes since DYOH. Little fill-ins, drum rolls like in CWU or Come Inside (why did I not mention it?) and the incredible bomb The Test (which i consider as a breakbeaty tune as well)..
E(argasm) = m(usic) x c(hemicals)²

I do not understand the term minimal. I understand it when it sounds clean and underproduced but I would not qualify Digitalism as minimal.

For me this year is about finding new interesting dance/electronic acts. What I heard from Digitalism it sounds quite alright. The remixes are their best work. I hope to see them live next week and I can give a better view of them after that. I remind me a bit of Vitalic aswell but he is a bit more pounding on beats and more influenced by old synthesiser greats like Jarre and Moroder.

Also Daft Punk is being mentioned as an influence. I read/hear that a lot lately. Just bought MSTRKRFT "the Looks" that also sounds very Daft punky. I always thought "homework" was a masterpiece but maybe they really were/are ahead of their time.

And is this the Justice you are talking about: http://profile.myspa...endID=20277106?

I think all those new electro artists, especially Digitalism are everything but bad... This electro-noise as you say is the sound of today. I don't think HAA has anything related to it at all. I'd see Rollin & Scratchin or Rock & Roll a lot more than HAA as an influence of sounds like Digitalism or Justice. Bennassi has nothing to do at all either. He just provoked all the Satisfaction-like songs that appeared in the year after Satisfaction, that were all crap, but frankly, Jupiter Room or Waters of Nazareth CAN'T be compared to Satisfaction...

I think Digitalism have a very "clean" and "intelligent" sound. Some people say Justice are the new Daft Punks, I say Digitalism are...

Of course there are crappy sounds too, just like in every kind of music...

Oh god I know him from that Never be alone track by Simian. I found that track awfull!!!! Maybe I'm spoiled by Erol Alkans Ettiene the Crecy and Simian mash up on a Bugged Out mix which was great. I can not hear the other tracks on Myspace unfortunatly but if Never be alone is a blueprint of Justice it's not my cup of tea
