I just want to say how fucking amazing the chem's were at glastonbury on friday. Definately the absolute highlight of my festival.

All I wanna say is who the hell needs any kind of artificial or natural mental/physical stimulant, aka drugs, when you got the chemical brothers and there crazy visual displays live and in front of you.

They were awesome, and big up that clown aswell, wouldn't you just love it if he was actually your dad.

:P

Welcome, itslikeajunglesometimes! Glad to see you had fun at the festival. Was this your first time seeing the Chemical Brothers in concert?

I see what you're saying, but I think it actually makes the performance even more amazing, it hits certain emotions that you don't have when 100% sober.

It depends on the person. Some people get a kick out of being messed up at concerts and feel it enhances the experience, and for others sobriety works for them.

As long as everyone's enjoying the music and what else the concert atmosphere has to offer, and they can walk away saying "I had a great night" then it's all good. Different strokes for different folks.

I definatly don't agree with getting off your face, just in the right state, a state of merryness. Otherwise you haven't got a clue what's going on and wont remember it.

That's true, iggy. For me it's not a good night if, the next day, you have no recollection of the fun you had the night before. Nobody wants to be "that guy" at the party, you know, the one who overindulges and spends 3/4 the night face down and passed out. X-D

I love that guy, that guy's me X-D

na not really, I tend to over indulge, but it usually just use the wall as support, I never collapse. Sitting down and spacing out too is what I do.

Yeah whirlygirl, it was the first time I had seen those crazy bastards live.

I definately agree with the statement 'different strokes for different folks'. I myself would not like to get fucked up at a gig, specially one at glastonbury. The thought of loosing control of myself amongst all those people/strangers isn't my idea of fun. I hope Im not sounding like a boring twat or anything, anyway i was loosing control of myself at the chems, but in a fuckin good way. Its great to be able to remember the experience at the end of the day, and hopefully many more days to come.

But I guess its up to you what you wanna do to with yourself, and if you think drugs/booze will make that experience that much better, then go for it. Just don't go whining about the fact that you can't remember a sodding thing the next day! To me thats a waste of a fucking good gig, and 112.

anyway im gonna stop rambling on.

itslikeajunglesometimes, looks like you're in the same boat with iaguanpunk here who also experienced the Chemicals live for the first time last weekend. All I can say is that even though it would be silly for me to be jealous, I am somewhat envious. 8) But it's all good! Glasto is like the Chemical stomping ground and I know that Tom and Ed really enjoy playing there. You can see it in the pictures and you can hear it in the music. What a fucking great first time!

We are all their children now, they OWN us! ;)

haha, indeed.

There are people who do go over the top at Glasto, like this one bloke standing next to me at the Paul McCartney gig. It was before he started playing, and this guy just collapsed to the floor, people were trying to help him up, I just ignored it and pretend I didn't see. They managed to get him back up, I looked at him, I saw his eyes roll into the back of his head and then he puked, I heard it hit the floor. The crowd just threw him into the crowd and told him to find a doctor.

I think I trod in the sick, but it was mixed in with loads of mud, so I didn't smell it.

mmmm nice. Good thing for the mud and relatively cool weather, or it could have been alot worse. Although I have to say, this was my second year at glasto, and I know it aint too many visits, but I didnt see anyone puke once. Which is quite surprising. I think you just get used to the sight of pissed people after a few days tho. It begins to loose its funniness and novelty quite rapidly. Although there was one pissed bloke (when they showed the england match) who (all by himself) tried to start a mexican wave. It was a funny moment, one person trying to start a 60,000 person mexican wave, and he was in the middle of the crowd too. Another highlight of the festival.

hahaha X-D

Two people died :( one guy found in the car park, due to drugs. The other person was the father of the drummer of the band Muse, who had a heart attack next to the pyramid stage just after they had performed "their best gig ever".

i am so enveous of all those who got to see the bro's play. i recorded the bbc 3 coverage and have watched it a copeous amount of times since. i managed to watch the chems at wolverhampton so i was reliveing the moment through the tv although the sound quality was crap. that clown i adore, i tried to sing along to acid children and found that i sound exactly like him, thats troubling. that song is amazing but i loved that part where they first introduced setting sun, that was phenominal. you could see the excitement on toms face, ands thats what its all about whether your on drugs or not, personally i say no but then i dont care about other people. it was anoying to watch it on tv seeing people who looked like they'd rather had been somewhere else but where stuck. sod off and let the fans get up front. i so hope we all get the opportunity to watch the whole set on tv or the internet.

Definately. Another quick moan. If all those people who go to glastonbury just to get fucked and pass out at the pyramid stage stopped going, there would be enough tickets for people who actually want to go for the music, the culture and the atmosphere. If you want to go just to get arseholed then stay in your back garden with some crates and a television. (if you have a back garden that is, i live in the countryside you know)

God I feel like a grumpy old man, im not you know!
