The longer they wait, the more demand they will get. Unless everyone gets bored and leaves.

I say they should go the root of Talking Heads: Fifth album, breakout single (probably "Come Inside"), and a live film. And I don't mean just someone with a DV camera. I mean a live concert film like "Stop Making Sense". Ed with a big suit is optional of course.

I always thought of the Chemical Brothers as being the Talking Heads of the whole "Electronica Is the Next Big Thing" push in 97.

Well Turbo Nutter, if you're going to dream, you gotta dream big, right?

Just think of the surround sound going on and all the vegetable visions in their technicolor glory. Imax all the way!! People would be having seizures in the theater, for sure!

I think that's a big step though. Concert films for release in theaters is such a massive undertaking financially and there's always risks.

Seriously though. I'd love to have a live dvd done up with 5.1 surround sound. What would be great are viewing options. Now I'm no fan of Rush, and I hate Getty Lee's voice with a passion so I've never got around to watching it, but I've heard really good things about the Rush in Rio dvd. There are viewing options where you can watch the concert footage from different angles. I think that would be remarkable on a Chems dvd. I know some people would find this boring, but I'd love to have an in depth look at the behind the scenes stuff - not backstage stuff like interviews per se, but stuff with the crew setting up and tearing down the stage, how the visuals are pulled off during the show, and things like that...

I'm not saying that it has to be a theatrical feature. Hey look at the GOAT's final hurrah at MSG (Jay-Z's "Fade to Black" concert film). That was shot down faster than an Al-Qaeda Pork Picnic Lunchen. A more interesting film would've been, IMO, Fade to Grey, which showed Dangermouse making the Grey Album and the reaction the RIAA had when the grass-root campaign of Grey Tuesday sucker bitch punched them in the nuts.

What I'm saying is that a lot of concert DVDs are filmed rather badly, without a lot of thought. But a proper film, something like The Last Waltz would be effect. Or maybe even creating a narrative film, to be like Under the Cherry Moon. Tom and Ed could be mistaken for male gigolos in Amsterdam, but somehow turn a stale stuffy garden party on it's ear by playing Song To the Siren with a hi-fi and a cellular. I smell box office!

In 5.1 stereo sound of course

X-D X-D

Very descriptive! I dig your style!

Ah yes, The Last Waltz. I remember reading something where Tom and Ed mention that film, how they'd want their last gig to be like the Last Waltz where everyone they've ever worked with joins them onstage.

I imagine they have hours upon hours and reels upon reels of footage from shows over the years, and stuff from being on the road. Though I think it was Ed who said it's probably of no interest to very many people but it would be something to show his grandkids... or something like that! We only got a glimpse of this on the Singles dvd - the Private Reel portion was a nice touch, showing the way-back years when they were young and wide eyed.

irish fan Escribi:

the wolves set would be better wouldn't it ,plus glastonbury 2000 and and early gig such as the brixton 96 one that some have on bootleg to make the set complete.

Yeah your correct Irish fan, if the wolves gig was made into a dvd that would be great.

However i think an outdoor venue would be best for the live dvd. I would love them to do there live dvd at Somerset house, its a brilliant venue where the gig is set in magnificent 18th century courtyard surround by lovely georgian buildings. I saw underworld there and it was cool when they lit up the buildings in green lights, so im guessing the chems could do much better in terms of visuals. Quite a few dance bands have played there to so im sure the Chems there is possible on a hot summers evening.

If your interested heres a link http://www.somerset-house.org.uk/ to the places site and heres some pics of the Underworld gig http://www.dirty.org...london_uk_1.htm but theres not many of aroud the venue. IM really trying to sell this place hehehehe 8)

Anyways i also reckon it would be cool if they filmed on the PTB tour mayb at one of the Brixton gigs cause thats a cool venue and prob the biggest there at on the tour. Or if the play homelands that would be a cool dvd.
