So if it is 12:00 noon in the UK, what time is it in Holland?

Just wondering ;-)

We live a hour earlier than in the UK.

So when it's 12:00 in UK In holland it's 13:00.

But talking about time is relative.

Before the second world war all times in Europe were a bit diffrent from each other. But Hitler wanted one time all across his third Reich.

That's why all countries that were a part of his realm have the same time.

So our time is really the Berlin time.

Due to the fact that England wasn't occupied in the second worldwar they still have the time difference in relation to the rest of Europe.

I BELIEF THAT THIS THE ONLY GOOD THING THAT CAME FROM THE SECOND WORLDWAR. (EUROPE's MAINLAND HAVING ALL THE SAME TIME).

Sorry you guys for the history lesson.

But what I wanted to prove is that what time it is,

is only what you call it.

Finland is a lot like Sweden (that is, a relatively desolate place :) ) Most of the population live in the capital city of Helsinki which looks like this. Otherwise, much of the land is countryside. The weather is generally bad, some days even worse. There are about a million people living here in Helsinki, so there's not that much going on. Prices are steep because of high taxes. So yeah, it's a real tourist paradise.

On the positive side, crime and violence rates are real low, we have great social security and education is good and cheap. The nature is gorgeous in the summer.

Speaking of violence, you probably heard about the murder of Anna Lindh, the Swedish Foreign Minister. The reason why that was able to happen was that Lindh was shopping in one of the largest malls in Sweden without a lifeguard. That explains something about the security around here, people are not living in fear of violence. A couple of weeks ago, I was walking through the streets in the central part of Helsinki and our ex-president walked past me. He was not accompanied by anyone either. So I started thinking about it ... in how many countries is this possible?

Sorry for ranting and thanks for reading this far!
