Dude, Skinny Puppy's 'Too Dark Park' was one of the best albums ever. Without it, I doubt DYOH would have existed.

I'll track it down, I don't know if I have one anymore... really, really dark industrial music, you know, what they called techno back before people started taking e. Actually, probably more influential on guys like Aphex Twin and Auterchre and square pusher than the chems, but they were definately pioneers of the dark electronic thing.

It's too bad Oingo Boingo is on that list. O well...

But Air Supply, Asia, Crash Test Dummies and Color Me Bad on the shit list are spot on.

We haven't had Skinny Puppy's Too Dark Park in our cd collection in ages. Too Dark Park's not really my thing, I like their other stuff but I can respect what they were/are trying to do. PETA ain't got nothing on these guys who have been banned from doing concerts because their live shows are so graphic. Too Dark Park is very noisy, rough, clangy, dark and not the best of the bunch. Now their album Vivisect... gotta love a band that uses a sample from the movie Plague Dogs.
be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle

I'm wondering if I was completely unimpressed with the list because some of the bands on there have made music contributing toward some of the greatest moments in my life, or whether the author of the list really didn't have a whole lot to work with, making his attempts at wit further away from clever than you possibly could go.

I pretty much discredit the list because if the logic they used to judge the bands was anything like the "Are You in a Good Band" questions at the bottom, then they have no idea what the hell they're talking about.

But they did a good job at nailing some of them, though. Whirly I totally agree with Air Supply, Asia, CTD and Color Me Badd (don't forget the second 'd'). It was a given that Vanilla Ice was in the top 10.

No Westlife, Crazy Frog, Ian Van Dahl, DJ Sammy or Fat Man Scoop!!

Celine Dion is spot on, I still remember her song Think Twice being number 1 for 7 fucking weeks back in 95, painful! I thought putting Jamiroqui in there was a bit harsh though.

Yes, the list is bollocks. I felt that when reading it, and being an Englishman i've been subjected to some awful music through the years that haven't been mentioned on that list written by some fool. What is it with lists anyway? The only list you need is a shopping one, and maybe a porn one:

lesbians

p.o.v.

anal

gangbang

zomfg. even Yanni is in the list. I couldn't believe my eyes.

I would put 50 out of 50 rappers in the list.

Who could hate Yanni?
He put on a turn-down collar, a black bow, and wore his Sunday tail-coat. As such, he looked spruce, and what his clothes would not do, his instinct for making the most of his good looks would.

JK is ok. He's got a few good tracks but on the whole I don't rate him so higly. Cosmic Girl, Supersonic, King for a Day and Deeper Underground are tracks I enjoy. The rest don't work for me at all.

This list fucking sucks the big one. Primus is one of the greatest bands i've ever seen. They are judging their enire opinion of the band off of one album. And Jamiraquoi did a lot for dance music. "Travelling Without Moving" was a really influencial album.

Meh. Blender just released a list of worst lyricists recently. Granted some of the singers on that list sucked but jeez.

I mean honestly. Who cares what Blender thinks? It would be nice of them to celebrate what they think is good for a change. Yeah lists like these are annoying, but the good thing is lists like these are a dime-a-dozen and get lost in the shuffle after a week.

Unless you go digging up old threads. ;)
