Thanks so very much ThePumisher!

Wow, I forgot that I created this topic 2 years ago.

Well, I'm pleasantly surprised that they're releasing a new album so soon. I kind of had it in my mind that they weren't for many more years.

:]

The creative fire is still going strong for them.

THIS IS REALLY GOOD NEWS! I always have high expectations for them and they always deliver.

My Number 2# band btw!

Never did listen to their last album properly. Was very impressed by the aural disaster that is Machine Gun.

Yeah, Machine Gun was a lovely aural disaster! Nice one Iggy.

If "Fourth" is to Third as Portishead was to Dummy, then there should, imo, be an even greater album coming out next year.

Bitchin'

Third was awesome.

Portishead are awesome.

Word of a new album makes the back of my knees itch with sweat.

He put on a turn-down collar, a black bow, and wore his Sunday tail-coat. As such, he looked spruce, and what his clothes would not do, his instinct for making the most of his good looks would.

Yeah, the new song is pretty cool. The filter on the voice is odd :S I need some lyrics. Cool drumming.

Thanks for the link Pumisher!

Portishead reveal new album plans

Bristol band sign new record deal and start writing
Portishead's Geoff Barrow has revealed to 6 Music that the band have signed a new record deal and that he'll start writing material for a new album this summer.

In an exclusive interview backstage at this year's Glastonbury, Barrow, who is currently touring with his side project Beak>, said he's hopeful fans won't have to wait eleven years for this record - as they did for Third.

6 Music's Rodrigo Davies spoke to Barrow.

Thanks again for the great news Thepumisher!
I just read this entire page, and you always have the best breaking news on Portishead, and then I'm always surprised that I created this thread X amount of years ago. Weird how time flies!

I concur with this opinion. I doubt that their next album will sound much like this song.
