I know I keep egging that speculation n'stuff, and I know the Chems aren't real keen on the whole comparing their songs to other songs by different bands so I want to reiterate the whole "nod" aspect I originally mentioned. I hope these speculations/coincidences/etc. I brought up aren't offensive. Anyway. I one more thing is I couldn't help but notice the coincidence that Bizarre Love Triangle is on New Order's album called Brotherhood.
That is all on that for now.
On that note I find this newest EBW really infectious and I'm hearing and noticing new things with each listen. I listened to it 3 times on my way to work. It's a good feeling to have a song I really dig playing in my head as I get down to the daily grind. I can't wait to get my ears on the real deal with good quality besides the radio rip.

So I'm driving home today, listening to the Stranglers greatest hits, and the song European Girl comes on.
There are these twinkly noises near the beginning of European Girl that do bear some resemblance to the spacey twinkly bits at the beginning and end of EBW10/Midnight Madness. It's not blatant, it's not like they bear a striking resemblance to one another - it's just something I noticed since I've been trying to put my finger on those twinkly noises in EBWX and Midnight Madness for a while. Those sparkly bits sounded so familiar when I first listened to EBW10, and now I realize why. Again - not a blatant thing, just one of those coincidental matters as far as my ears are concerned.
Which brings up another point. Part of the reason that endears me to the Chemical Brothers is because their music has the ability to remind me of so many things - people, places, things, events and sometimes other songs - even if those things bear no resemblance to each other except in my own head. It's weird and I like it.

Ah, I can see what mean.
Your mention about bringing back memories, places, people and even fragrances is a thing that I love about music in the first places. It can be powerful, producing flashbacks, experiences and emotions of your past. Like a picture book of your life opening up for just one little second because of a sound or melody. I like that too. Don't think it's weird.
