I had this idea for a new topic. It's a bit in the same spirit on the Now Playing topic. I learn and listen to suggestions people post there and sometimes find some great tunes on there.

Here we can keep each other posted on (new) video's, movies, pictures..... all sorts of visual art. We already had lot of discussions on directors as Michel Gondry and Chris Cunningham, maybe with this topic we can learn about other visual masterminds or fantastic screenplay writers.

My first "look at this" suggestion is:

Coldplay - Speed of Sound directed by Mark Romanek

Mark made a fantastic visual performance video of this song. I surely hope that light show will also be on the tour.

Watching Deadliest Catch. It's a show on the Discovery Channel that's about deep sea fisherman who have one of the most dangerous jobs in the world.

I swear, anywhere from 1 to 5 people perish in each episode, the sea just swallows them up. All these men live in the same town, they all know each other so when someone dies they are affected. Yet despite all the death they encounter, the men still standing show amazing resilience when it comes to battling nature. When there's a storm coming and there's ridiculously high swells, the just go with it. It seems there is little to no fear in their eyes.

It's a really fascinating show and very addictive.

And now I know why Alaskan king crab is $22 a pound!
be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle

And Whirly , pfew , i always felt kinda nerdy but i am SO IN LOVE With Discovery Channel and National geographic haha. Especially " Myth Busters" on Discovery , it's this 2 supercool guys who did a lot of special effects and stuff in movies and are really good with that sort of stuff , and they are going to find out wheter some myths are true or false , by testing it themselves...love it :D

I need a drum machine, though, so I think the ER-1 will be coming my way soon. A Microkorg is definetly on the wishlist.

Sweet - I think I might have fiddled with one of those in the shops - is it still available new?

I fell in love with the microkorg after playing with the vocoder and creating a sweetass sound.

'Myth Busters' is cool. I liked the episode where they tried to make a bullet out of ice and another out of deli meat, which I appreciated because I work in a deli.

There is an ER-1 Mk 2 out now which has minor improvements on the original. But being a cheap bastard, I'll be checking out the original on eBay, hopefully for under $175 Canadian. They came out just a few years ago, when the groovebox craze started up. It's not really a groovebox, per se, but it was marketed as such. I have the EA-1 analogue synth that partners it.

I reckon they could have used the 'making-of' video as a replacement to the real one honestly. Not that the original is bad or anything, I was just laughing so hard... i think it would be awesome to see the reactions of absolutely everyone who wasnt a fan. Real genuine "whaaat thuuuh....."'s.
